Well by the definition of the rulebook, they didn't score more points.

Other than Chris Jones and Butker, all of those guys are bottom 5 for starters at their poisition.

What rulebook are you looking at?

I’ll take your position seriously when you know how to spell the word. Yeah, I know you’re trolling, but it’s still weak beyond getting people to respond.

  2. It takes a lot more than candidates for Canton to make up a great NFL team. IMO, it’s more important to have a lot of really good players to complement the stars than it is to have the stars themselves.

Beyond Mahomes and Kelce? There’s only Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, Joe Thuney, Isaiah Pacheco, Chris Jones, Nick Bolton, Trent McDuffie, Harrison Butker, Tommy Townsend and L’Jarius Sneed (and Feed) .

Yeah, a bunch of practice squad guys for sure.

  3. Kelce cannot come back soon enough.

Seeing Chris Jones flanked by discount Sopranos was pretty funny, though and the defense actually doing alright weakened his position a bit. Still, I thought it would be close and that there would be a shot Detroit would win. They're going to be a hell of a team. Wouldn't be shocked if they made it to the NFC Championship Game or even beyond.

  4. On the flip side is that Brady and Mahomes are good at turning opportunities like that into tangible results better than most players. My two cents, take it for what it’s worth.

Then again, Philadelphia is rough on anyone who isn’t a perennial champion. I’m just glad Andy Reid never decided to dress up as Santa Claus when he coached the Eagles. He’d never make it out alive.

  5. The NFL hasn't been the same since the 2011 CBA banned two a day practices. Which, hey, can't blame the players too much on it because two a day practices in the summer heat SUUUUUCK! I used to play football in high school, I'd know. And I had the "fortune" of wearing a black jersey. But, between that and one less preseason game, the early part of the year is just....hard to watch without a rooting interest.

Part of what makes the NFL a total crapshoot, but that's the fun of it. You really don't know who is going to be great or awful until 5 games into the season and even that may be too soon.

  8. Sports gambling is weird in general. At a casino, it's your own damn fault if you lose $100 playing poker, but if you bet $100 on the game and lose because of a dropped pass or a dodgy penalty then it's someone else's fault. Really it's your own damn fault still for betting $100 on something completely out of your control but let's not take it to it's logical conclusion.

Not as common as "Mizzou", but yes, MU is fairly common, especially back in the Big 8/early Big XII days.

Okay, fair enough. It felt like as time went on, though, that MU did give way to Mizzou if not in the athletic department's marketing then certainly in the public opinion.

  10. I don't think I've heard many, if any, refer to the University of Missouri as MU. Mizzou on the other hand......

KU I've heard all the time and Kansas State is almost always referred to as K-State.

And on that note, no one under the age of 70 or pandering politicians pronounces Missouri as "Missouruh".

Outside of PHI/SF, the rest of the NFC is meh. Who else are they going to pick- THE LIONS?

It wouldn't shock me all things considered what with the NFC turning into the AFC of the 80s and 90s.

Would be hilarious if the NFL's Opening Night game winds up being the Super Bowl.

  12. As a Mizzou fan, I completely agree that they shouldn’t have left. But the Longhorn Network was the final straw in a long line of Texas acting like it owned the whole conference and that just wasn’t going to do it anymore. And money, of course money. Really, the first mistake was letting in the refugees from the Southwest Conference or at the very least, not treating the University of Texas-Austin like post WWI Germany.

Still, :censored: the Longhorns and :censored: the University of Texas Athletic Department.
