Going back to markets... Whether a team is in LA or a team is in Omaha, with one-game-per-timeslot, you're relying on a lot of neutral fans from around the country to bump up the numbers. What can happen is a major city might completely drown out that there's even a game on. While football fans will watch from wherever just because there's football on. Same way that Kent State-Bowling Green gets watched on a Tuesday night. It's football. It's on. Football fans will find it.

So, in that case, smaller markets might actually work better in two ways: Much higher 'local' ratings draw more local support, ticket sales, merchandise, and recirculate eyeballs to return to more future games and the other games not featuring the local team.

And, to fans in general, who know the XFL is 'below NFL' expect it to fill the void where the NFL isn't. Instead, by putting USFL and XFL teams in NFL cities, you're just saturating an already crowded landscape for money and attention.

Orlando, San Antonio, Memphis, Birmingham, Omaha, Boise, San Diego, Portland, St. Louis, Raleigh, Norfolk, Hartford, etc are places that might do better being the 'only pro football in town' rather than 'that other team that's not the NFL'.

Do you think if the XFL had two extra teams next season they would play on a Friday or Thursday night?

I totally agree on the NFL city market saturation as well. They should of used ex-NFL cities or cities that would of welcomed pro football.

How would Rochester, Columbus, Richmond or Norfolk-Virginia Beach, Louisville, Colorado Springs, San Jose, and even New York Island (Citi Field)

Yeah, this Vegas venue is a problem. I feel like I'm watching a high school game.

Reminds me of that field in Far North Alaska, build it and they will come........ one day.

San Diego would be a slight upgrade from Las Vegas.

Oakland. No, They didn't support any of their teams. The A's would be long gone like the rest if they weren't so poverty.

San Diego would of been fun.

It’s hard to support a team that has a crap stadium and an owner only worried about his golden throne (bed)

I think their colors and identity are fine.  The application is just weird.  A weird logo cobbled together by tweaking an identity meant for elsewhere and then looking tiny on the helmet.  light grey mixed into their home uniforms with no dark color between it and the lime.

Also, I really want them back.  C'mon.  We'll take care of them.  You can even put them in Red Bull Arena and name them "New Jersey".

And okay...  Now looking at them, the red lines in the Renegades' does help a lot.  Even if it does make them reeeeeeeeeeeally look like the league is being petty over the Oilers lawsuit.

The Orlando Guardians should have utillised their cities' Basketball team identity to their favour and had the Guardian logo as a sorcerer or spell caster ( Harry Potteresque Dumbledore?) or a Magician, Wizard or a Power Being etc.

It feels a little pointless critiquing an XFL logo (because they are all bad), but the new Seattle logo looks so awkward with the negative space on the bottom of the “S” and the negative space filled in on the top half of the letterform.

Regardless, Overwatch League did the same concept better:

I'm working on the Miami Seahawks next.

If you look for their logo this is what comes up.

Pretty crappy. Their colors were orange and green which is a headache inducing mix. I did find this, a copy of a program with a better detailed version of their logo.
    u6SC03W.jpg
I drew out a version of the logo in Flexisign, which is like Corel or Illustrator.

    And played around with colors.

This is after playing with it a bit more. The logo on the left is meant to be the basis for a helmet logo. It still needs work.

I'm trying to figure out how to use orange and green and not have it look like a parrot. I could use some opinions.

The green, orange and beige makes it look more like a parrot head or similar as you stated, maybe a little bit longer top beak with less curve?

I do like the sky blue, aqua, teal coloured one for an out of the box but i'm guessing for an old logo it probably wouldn't fit so my pick would be the top green one.

This championship series thing still rubs me the wrong way.

The NLL changed their schedule to (mostly)be done in time for PLL after years of overlap with the MLL.

Now PLL is deciding to just run an indoor tournament in the middle of the NLL season?

I admit, despite trying to get into it  (especially when the Toronto/Hamilton Nationals were a thing in MLL), I'm not much of an outdoor fan (despite being a very big NLL and MSL fan) so maybe I'm missing something but it still feels like these 2 were getting along nicely and then this came to be.

    It's how things are now.

Chase the dollar and forget about the sport or sports intrests.

They would of been better to approach the NLL and try and put at least one PLL All Star team into the NLL

I'm so glad this thread is about the English language on a media platform that goes worldwide to a few countries that aren't familiar with the peculiarities of the language.

I'm guessing your head is always up there, you know where the sun don't shine.

Irrelevant opinion, but, even the officials tops look goofy. It looks like a rugby-style polo you’d see at The Gap in 1991.

Should of just gone all black with white script or all white.

I'm looking at it like this, if Fox is wanting to treat this as just below the level as the NFL, they'll want to avoid ad space. If they got Nike, adidas, or a big name to make the jerseys I can see them putting their logos on it. But if it's OTP or some company that just makes adidas' teamwear uniforms they won't want them on the uniform anywhere.

    ZBBRykW.png

I think the only thing that threw me off is how few stripes they used on these, to include stripes on the sleeves. But they are an improvement on the planned 2020 referee uniforms.

XFL breaks new ground by having a woman on every officiating crew – Football Zebras

Houston, Texas, USA. 8th Feb, 2020. XFL down judge Tangela Mitchell leaves a meeting on the field during the XFL game between the Los Angeles Wildcats and the Houston Roughnecks at TDECU

They did end up going with these which were slightly different from the standard uniform at the start of the season.

The last one isn't too bad.

Though they could of gone with a lighter colour?

Saw the USFL player draft happens this week.

How does a player decide if they want to play for the XFL, USFL or CFL?

I’m not up on the player wages of each organisation but if it was down to media exposure, level of league and overall league stability.

    CFL

    XFL

    USFL

  10. I caught a few of the replay highlights on Utube and thought that most of the games were of a reasonable to high level, ok there were a few plays that should of worked out and didn't but this was the first week with some really good plays as well.

Even the Umpires blew it on some very controversial calls, these will be better as the weeks pass.

Overall i think the Rock's speech was forced and just was not necessary. The crowds will build, the play will gel nicely and people will be happy they have 10 to 15 weeks extra of football and then USFL will give them more.

    Hooray for more footy.

    That's fantastic news.

Don't worry about trying to compete with some other sports at this time of the year, just get the supporters what they want and they'll come in droves.

A look at all the Super Rugby Pacific's Aussie based teams:

    FpDREG_agAABwBJ?format=jpg&name=4096x409

The Force should go with the States colours of Gold and Black.

The Rebels has to much going on with the Federation Square design on it.

Qld Reds just need to wear either Blue or Maroon shorts and limit the white.

NSW Blues needs sky blue socks

The Brumbies need to merge with NSW and bring in a South Australia, NT and Tasmanian combined side.
