Free Agency has started going crazy and then yesterday this news came out:
https://www.cbc.ca/sports/football/cfl/cfl-montreal-alouettes-ownership-1.6747518
For the second time in 4 years the Alouettes are under league ownership.Things are not looking good in Montreal.
A pity with Montreal as they have a good following and a pretty good average attendance.
Maybe the owners aren't that good?
Do you know if they have trialed a supporters ownership group or similar?

They look good, the first one has the traditional horizontal stripes with a twist. -
Love the change and logo but not the explanation.

This is, of course, for the eight* years I've run the competition. I don't know the pre-2015 winners, I don't have the notes, and I'm not interested in looking them up.
*How the has it been eight years already...?
You done good.
It's strange someone running a friendly comp like this and not winning....

We stuffed up and changed a big part of the club but it's your fault as you're hating on us and not supporting us, we will win the championship and you will kick yourself if you don't use your money to buy merch and come to the games.
Typical how these groups just come in and think that changing the clubs identity is going to make things magically better.
SUPPORTERS is what makes clubs better.

Do the honestly need the REDS badge and the Q Koala badge?
I think the colours are wrong also as the original Northern Union was Maroon but after it split with the QFA which was Navy Blue (Melbourne Rules / AFL) and Maroon they took the dark blue almost black for their shorts.

NISA being a total disaster means a new crest as a result of this "merger"... certainly better than the previous Syracuse Pulse one.
FLOWER CITY TO PLAY AS SALT CITY UNION FOR MATCHES IN SYRACUSEOn a related note: Why doesn't NISA have it's on section under North American Soccer leagues? Same for MLX Next Pro and USL League One... PDL and NPSL are both on there, so it can't be because the third division is too low in the pyramid...
So it has two primary logos?

San Antonio FC have released a new home shirt. It's okay, but I think going with red instead of grey makes more sense. The star and the sponsor get lost in the stripes a bit. At least you can see the logos this year, since they ran with a blackout design last year.
I also would have been happy with the 3rd shirt being moved to primary as well.
I do like that red and black except for the Toyota White Square.

I love how clubs do this.
Thankyou Barbarians. On 12/24/2022 at 4:12 AM, kiwi_canadian said:There will be a new competition happening in South America, Langford, BC and Glendale, Colorado. The South American championship has been rebranded "Super Rugby Americas" and will have club teams from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Columbia, and Chile. On top of that, American Raptors from Glendale, Colorado (formerly of the MLR) and the Pacific Pride based in Langford, BC (National Canadian development team) will also joining the competition. The logo has been released and is a direct copy of the "S" from the Super Rugby Pacific completion.
Here's the Pacific logo for comperison:
No word on if the competitions are associated with one another.
This can only be good for Union, look how well the Argentinians have done since the Jaguars joined the Super Rugby.
Pity they didn't keep the Sunwolves, seen them play in Singapore and they got a good crowd.

The location has been put out previously, but I guess they still feel they aren't in the shape to set up teams in home stadiums.
You'd feel a bit stiff if you were the Stadia and never got a mention in their schedule.
Travelling Circus's, it's all the rage atm.

More on MSL from the LAX mag here
The short of it is that it seems all but certain that the Excelsiors will be the Brampton team name and that neither Owen Sound or Brampton are paying an expansion fee.
The other note is that Oakville has asked for a second 1-year hiatus so they are not allowed to participate in the draft but can protect 4 junior A graduates.
Looks like MSL will be a 6 team league this year and potentially a 7 team league in 2024.Looks like they need a bit of stability so getting all of that team changes out of the way is a big step in the right direction.

Brampton could easily move on with a different nickname, logo, whole package.
Good to see that the issue has been resolved but Owen Sound needs a better identity also.

I know it's a novelty type of idea for it in the USA and other areas but it works well in many other countries and leagues.
You don't have to have full member ownership but something similar to the 51% rule.
You know some clubs in the NFL still have life member seats like the MLB?
Thanks for that information as i did not know about the owners.
It would be a shame to lose Montreal as they do love their football for some reason.
