The extent of my knowledge of Vinik buying the team was from a recent Athletic article where he said he didn't know how to spend the billions he made from his hedge fund so he googled "how to buy a pro sports team."  He actually considered buying the Stars but didn't see himself fitting in with Cuban and Jones personality-wise.

The guy's a great owner, though, and has been great for the local community as well.

The Stars Current owner Tom Gaglardi is nothing like Cuban and Jones.

I've only heard baseball going this route, the NHL seems set at 32, along with the NFL. Maybe MLS will add another 16 teams, but it seems only baseball is going to come out of all this forever radically changed, from teams to rules to playoffs, etc. The NHL may change a couple seats at the table, but unless they're in a way, way worse situation, I can't see any changes amounting to the cumulative changes from  around 1995-2000. The league started the new century in a radically different place than they did the decade before with relocations, expansion, rule changes,  etc.

the NBA might consider it and the two new NBA teams will probably be Seattle and Las Vegas, which is what I don't want but it's inevitable that the NBA is next for Vegas after NHL and NFL.

Alaska-Anchorage is dropping all 4 of their D1 sports; men's hockey and skiing and women' gymnastics and skiing. They will play this season before ending. Seven of the ten men's hockey members are leaving the WCHA after this season to form the CCHA, leaving behind Alaska-Fairbanks and Alabama-Huntsville. Alaska-Fairbanks has said that they will not be cutting any athletics programs.

    Don't they have basketball?

1.) It's not going to be anytime soon. Liberty isn't a bad team... it's the school itself. The politics they espouse there is pretty dangerous. Why do you think the Sun Belt and Conference USA wanted nothing to do with Liberty when they made the move up? The moment Liberty does something that is even remotely controversial, those conferences would be getting big time glares for letting them in.

2.) Whatever drugs you're on.. please share. There's NO way on on this planet or any other planet or even this forsaken timeline that North Dakota State jumps ship to the Big Ten. First off is academics - 13 of the 14 Big Ten members are in the AAU, probably the most prestigious academic organization in North America (Nebraska was part of it before they left in 2011). Invitations for the AAU are extremely rare. Why am I bringing this up? It might be a sticking point for most of the schools.

Secondly is the massive overhaul NDSU would need to undertake in order to be in the Big Ten's radar. The Fargodome, where they play in football, is 5.5 times smaller (in terms of capacity) then Michigan Stadium. Hell, the smallest stadium in the Big Ten (Northwestern's Ryan Field) is 2.5 times larger in terms of capacity. It's the same with other sports. In terms of football is the extra money it would take - Where do you think they can come up with the money for an extra 22 scholarships in the middle of an economic downturn?

The thing is that if it's "conference only in College football" this fall, Liberty (as well as UMass, BYU, New Mexico State, UConn and Army as well.  Notre Dame would probably be ACC in that situation) would have to go into one of those two conferences for a year if they want to play in 2020

  5. The whole "For the Love of Football" motto on the field is annoying as hell now, but since Vince McMahon owns the XFL, it's not surprising he would beat the motto or nickname down to death as he does with his wrestlers (ie, referring to Roman Reigns as the Big Dog everytime he appears).

Did McMahon ever say he'd let the older teams come back? Like Frisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, etc. Of course, the Hitmen and the Extreme wouldn't unless the current teams changed, but that's unlikely.

New York and LA came back.  San Francisco could be among the top candidates the next time they expand if they can find a venue for the XFL.  I don't think they will go back to Las Vegas even though the Raiders are there now.  Chicago has never shown that they can support alternative football.  Besides, one bad QB in Chicago is enough.

    American Football Jersey Makers

Exclusive in that I think up until XFL everything they did was through Adidas.

Let's not put the blame on those meh MLS Adidas jerseys on a little Football jersey company.

So do they make the college football jerseys with the Adidas logos?

From what I can tell they are an exclusive jersey maker for Adidas

Here is the President's Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/samwaksman/

    https://xflnewshub.com/xfl-news/new-division-of-adidas-will-be-xfl-uniform-manufacturer/

"Custom Outfitters will be the brand manufacturer of the XFL Uniforms, not Adidas. Custom Outfitters is not a division of Adidas. They are based in Davie Florida.

Custom Outfitters is the primary producer of custom athletic uniforms for Adidas."

So are they the ones who produce MLS jerseys for Adidas?
