  1. as a SD season ticket holder I'm not in favour of the logo being upside down as well and find that marketing gimmick dumb, but with their stance on branding (including that stupid name) I'm not surprised. It's bad enough they and adidas couldn't come up with a torrey pine green shirt in time, so the white is just a placeholder. Then there is the orange secondary, but now they seem to wear the BLM jerseys mostly. Brand identity wise it's a mess, despite it being well intended.
  2. San Diego Loyal SC (USL Championship) would like to build a temporary stadium at the Sports Arena site. They don't wan't to move into the upcoming SDSU stadium just yet, as it's too large for now. 3. so much fantastic art and craftsmanship. Laola wave trough these boards for you! The redesigned Nashville logo guitar pick, while keeping the N shaped music wave is my favourite redesigned logo of them all. as for the jerseys, my favourite is the Galaxy home with the sash made out of the logo based quasar star. As the poster above mentioned, I'm also sad it's over, thus how about a select few USL (would love to see what you come up with for San Diego) or Hawaii expansion teams next
  4. What a beauty. Very nice color combo, the zigzagged leg pattern horizontally is a great touch. and thumbs up for all the creative work in this thread in general.
  5. I understand both sides (authentic/no sponsor), but I'd definitely pay extra for sponsor-less gear if available. Too many kit designs are "ruined" because of sponsor boxes/word marks/colors. There are a few that fit nicely in shape/colors but that's rather the exception IMO.
  6. Generally the Vancouver Whitecaps have decent to great uni's and a decent looking sponsor. Now imagine them having this uni with VW as sponsor. . CPL a rather nice looking league, albeit with some weird team names. Wish them lots of success and a stable future.
  7. Like the uniform colors with white, orange and green. Would have preferred it though if they went with different colored shorts or/and socks to break up the monochrome look. Ex. Home: white jerseys and socks with either green or orange shorts. Away: orange jerseys and socks with either green or white shorts. Two things of note: Jerseys have a lead up time of about 18 months. Details in the paywalled Athletic article https://theathletic.com/1586210/2020/02/05/who-deserves-blame-for-bad-kits-an-inside-look-at-mls-and-adidas-design-process/?source=shared-article. So the inaugural jerseys are some sort of team wear / catalogue option for sure, with the team being around less than a year. There was talk of adidas having problems to produce a torrey green that matches the color in real life. So maybe look out for it in a future version.

  9. this is fantastic news! Really hope the all manufacturers will do the same from here on out!
  10. Thanks for sharing Bucfan56. While I can understand their reasoning, as a fan I'd rather have bespoken / custom designs, even if it means a longer turnaround and less options. Grew up partially in Italy during the 90s and Lotto was a big gear supplier to soccer teams, both amateur and pro across Europe. San Diego is revealing their first ever jersey(s) on February 13th.
  11. Love that abstract geometric lion backdrop on the Netherlands jersey. Orange and Black are a fantastic combo anyway. I dislike the USSF badge, as it is so damn generic and boring, but at least they fixed the stripe colors to red/white. the home jersey could be decent, if paired with navy blue shorts. the away looks terrible. Would be acceptable, even if ultra basic, to just leave out that lighter royal blue splash abomination.
  12. Some wonderful concepts and creations. Thanks for sharing. There are my favorites so far. Miami Suns (awesome logo and colors) Mexico City Stingrays (awesome logo & colors) Quebec Nordic Lights (awesome logo) LA Waves (awesome logo & colors) the 1st one. Las Vegas Venom (iconography) Carolina Aviators (awesome name & logo) Houston Voyagers (awesome name & logo)
  13. San Diego Loyal SC partners with Adidas (was really hoping they'd go with a smaller manufacturer that offers more custom/bespoken options)
  14. So many wonderful concepts! Bravissimo my favorites so far: Nashville (guitar) NYCFC (shape) Houston (Space theme) SLC (hexagons) Sacramento (state and flag graphics inclusion) some cities/concepts I’d like to see: East Indianapolis West Las Vegas New Mexico San Diego San Francisco
  15. Yes and No. A while ago MLS HQ advised it's teams to not sign any long(er) term local broadcast contracts beyond the current overall MLS broadcast deal in order to have the bidding done for everything (national, regional, local) together and get more $ from that. Would be nice if all was on 1 (good) service, but they still could split it up to local broadcasters after selling the rights. Example: big service provider buys all the rights from MLS, then re-sells some of them to regional/local broadcasters.
  16. San Diego Loyal SC is featuring the SD "sun/wordmark" part of their crest on some of their initial wave of apparel. Hope it catches on as a primary on caps & co! Still dig the colors, but it's also still a terrible name. Also: "Along with additional merchandise, the club’s official jerseys are slated to debut in early 2020." Source
  17. Hoping the mainly all white road uniforms go away except for the teams that have white as one of their main colors or primary or secondary uni's, like the two LA's, Whitecaps, Dallas etc. Looking forward to the MLS Liga MX All Star game, fingers crossed for a good look!
  18. ugh that "camouflage" pattern is terrible! the white Germany and yellow Sweden are the only nice ones IMO.
  19. far from perfect, but a big upgrade nonetheless!
  20. Source:https://www.sandiegouniontribune.co...st-landon-donovan-warren-smith-torero-stadiuma Werder Bremen-like green jersey with orange accents/sleeves and white shorts would be kinda neat if they focus on the green.Hope for one of the uniforms to be primarily white and orange/green accents though.
  21. Thank you @Bucfan56 Sorry for pestering you with Q's Do you know (some of) the other name's that weren't possible. If so can you share them? I'd love for the SD soccer ball/sun to be the secondary logo/word mark, even tough it's nothing special design wise. For baseball caps and such, but especially since they don't include the name. the Spanish influenced top crest shape is a nice touch, the Coronado bridge curve at the bottom is a marketing speak however. I was really hoping they would allow the 2-3 finalist names to be voted on by fans, especially as the crest design and team name aren't really linked together that much at all IMO. Obviously after vetting them prior for trademarks. Any info regarding the uniform colors in the stream or from other sources? a Werder Bremen-like green jersey with orange accents/sleeves and white shorts would be kinda neat if they focus on the green. Hope for one of the uniforms to be primarily white and orange/green accents though.
  22. @Bucfan56 please share all details you can about the team identity process, other designs/names. even if it's just in text form. Would be much appreciated! Looking forward to support and represent San Diego as they finally have a pro soccer (outdoor) team after what feels like an eternity.
  23. Love the colors, even though I’d have liked some kind of blue. The overall shape is a nice touch with the Spanish architecture influence. The logo however is too busy withnthe sun stripes and waves, the name is terrible and I hate that San Diego isn’t spelled out.
