  1. When did the 00s Niners play against 00s Washington on artificial turf? Or indoors for that matter?
  2. Kansas City Scouts/Colorado Rockies. The franchise later became the Devils.
  3. Navy blue + flat 2010s orange = They had a chance to change the color scheme but didn't, and the entire design suffers for that decision. Seriously, I would like these uniforms so much more in the throwback colors.
  4. They're better uniforms than we usually give them credit for, but you can't tell me with a straight face that they're top 5 - they're at the very least behind the Original Six. I'd say behind teams like the Flames, Oilers, Sabres, Penguins, Islanders, Canucks, and Stars. They're very good uniforms, I've always thought that the NHL in general is miles ahead of other American sports leagues aesthetically, but they're not the cream of the crop in the NHL.
  5. It was only originally part of the Flyers' jerseys in the 70s out ot necessity. It wasn't an intentional design choice. It then wasn't seen again until 00/ throwbacks. I think it's a fun quirk for a one-off throwback or even an alternate, but parroting the contrasting nameplate around like it's a core tenet of Flyers uniform design is overkill. I have no idea why it survived the uniform change to the current design.
  6. What makes me the angriest about these alternate helmets is when they're worn with a monochrome look of a different color, like the Broncos, Texans, and Lions last year. Looks like these helmets are headed that route as well. Yuck.
  7. Just the way uniforms have evolved in both sports. To understand what conventional design standards are in each sport, take a look at what's considered "classic"- like the Celtics, Knicks, and Lakers (not the purple, they that up) of the NBA world and the Packers, Bears, Steelers, etc. of the NFL world. Contrasting jerseys and pants became the standard in the NFL over time, while the NBA moved towards both being the same color. There were a few early NBA jerseys that had contrasting shorts, but they died out fairly quickly
  8. Fair. I do think the Blues logo had the Kings logo beat before they brought back the Gretzky era logo
  9. And please, please, please get rid of the contrasting nameplate
  10. The Blues logo is miles better than this logo It's also better than any Oakland/California (Golden) Seals logo ever was.
  11. Any time the shorts in a basketball uniform contrast with the jersey is bizarre
  12. My main problem with the current guardian cap policy is that they clearly look different than helmets without the cap, even with the cover that's meant to mimic the helmet design. There needs to be some consistency: Either no one should wear them, or everyone should.
  13. Loss in a one score game on national TV where Jay Cutler had 4 picks
  14. The Blues also had the team name arched above the logo for some reason for the first few years of red trim Not the biggest fan of the Blues' red trim years. I'd rank their uniform eras: 1. Original 2. 00s/Current 3. 80s red trim 4. 2007 RBK Edge 5. Aggressive 90s design
  15. Ok but it takes a ridiculously washed out picture to make the 90s silver look like today's silver. My point stands.
  16. If anything, the fact that it's this difficult to tell the white and the silver apart shows that the Raiders' current shade of silver is way too light. Bring back this silver
  17. Falcons and Bucs are each wearing their throwbacks against one another, I wonder how often that happens
  18. Exactly the point I was gonna make. The Namath throwbacks, in the first year after switching their uniforms, are completely unnecessary. Makes me wonder if they're already planning to move back to those uniforms after their mandatory five year stint with the Sack Exchange uniforms.
  19. Certainly helos that perception when the players wearing the jersey look like those two or this guy
  20. I see that the sleeve design is still up by Nike's template
  21. Unlikely. The league prints money from NFC East games, it's why they're on national TV 83836273 times a season
  22. To piggyback off this point, here are the Calgary Flames' away uniforms from 1980-2003: 1980-1994 1994-2000 2000-2003 Black wasn't even part of the color scheme until the mid-90s and by the early 00s it was the color base for the road uniform
  23. Too bad. This would've been an elite color matchup for Christmas Day last year
