This may have been part of the problem for Houston. You could question if they were a navy team or a red team. I leaned more towards red once they debuted the red helmets because of the numbers on the white jerseys and it would separate them from the rest of the division, which is blue heavy.

The Texans really didn't need to change uniforms. They could have just done this: Home: see above Road: Red, White, White, Red Alt: Navy, Navy (White #), White/Navy, Navy Color Rush: all Dark Navy (Red #) Sometimes, all a team needs to do is reassign uniform elements. This was one of those times. Maybe the Texans' new uniforms will grow on me, but I didn't see any problems with their original set.

I don't know if it's true, but this is a great looking set. I mentioned in a previous post that teams should reconsider mixing and matching each part of their uniforms. This is what I had in mind. One pair of pants for all three jerseys, different socks for the red-heavy jerseys, and these are good takes on past Falcons jerseys.

If done right, yes. My biggest issue with monochrome is that it's being overdone, especially by the Cardinals and Saints. Color Rush really opened Pandora's box on this. So, what do you consider monochrome done right? To me, it includes the helmet. The Bills using their standard white helmets with all red below the neck looks seriously off. And the Bengals CR (the 2023 version) was greatly improved by the white helmets.

Teams should reconsider all the mix and match they're doing anymore. If any team debuts a new set of uniforms next year, I wish one of them would consider only having one or two sets or pants. Making the jerseys interchangeable would be a lot easier if there were fewer other options for the other parts of the uniform. I don't mind teams having multiple pants options, but trying to make the full uniform mix and match seems like overkill and leads to some bad design ideas.

Thanks, I've never seen that before. Every graphic I've seen has the feet of the socks as solid white.

Any idea what's on the socks? Considering that portion of the socks will be inside the cleats, I don't know why anything would be on them.

I don't know about sales for U-H, but if the NFL did nothing, how many other college teams may try to do something like this? One imitator may not be a problem, but the potential for cumulative damage may be worth taking action. That said, I agree that shutting everything down may be excessive. The Iowa Hawkeyes have been using Steelers look-alike uniforms for decades, so there may be a middle ground somewhere.

This does look like an Oilers uniform and could cut into sales of those uniforms. You can't necessarily copyright colors, but you can copyright designs.

I think the Colts should consider adding blue pants with the white jerseys, at least if they insist on wearing white socks. I personally don't like white helmets and jerseys with non-white pants, but at least it would offer some contrast.

I wonder if the Broncos have an advantage or disadvantage if they play in the Mexico City game. They already play at altitude, but they've never had to adapt to playing higher above sea level. Altitude masks can only simulate so much.

It already is. Under the current schedule format, if the regular season starts on September 10, the Super Bowl will end up on Valentine's Day.

True, and I believe some pro teams share their facilities with college teams. Maybe the NFL should look into making multiple MNF games permanent until December. At least teams are somewhat used to six or eight days between games.

I could live with Saturday games replacing Thursday games, since that would give six days for recovery, but I agree about Wednesday and Friday. If teams could have their bye week before those games, that would be better for the players at least. But I can only hope we don't have 16 teams for the playoffs or scheduled neutral site playoff games. Money aside, the playoffs being changed to 14 teams was fixing something that wasn't broken, and scheduling neutral site playoff games weakens the purpose of winning in the regular season.

Yeah, I liked the previous schedule format too. It made a lot more sense for breaking up the season and home/road games were divided evenly. But I could see a compromise between the NFL and NFLPA for an 18th game: don't start the Thursday games until October or November, have two games on Thursdays like they're doing on Mondays, and the teams playing on Thursday have that NFL week off. It would give players 10 days to heal and instead of 3, and the NFL could enjoy an image boost along with fewer injuries per game. I don't understand why the teams playing on Thanksgiving don't already get the prior NFL week off.

It also means another bye week, which may lessen the injuries because the lesser injuries may have more time to heal. And remember, the NFLPA has to approve the 18th game. The NFL can't just swap preseason games for regular season games at will.

I want to save some time with the argument this post is likely to start. If you're going to say the NFL is in charge of the overhauls and Nike can't suggest anything unless requested to do so, please provide a link to the contract if possible. No amount of interviews with employees of either company will solve this, even if one side claims responsibility.
