  1. The inner collars of all three jerseys have H-Town written in that shade of blue. You can't see it when the players are wearing them, but you can see it on the retail shop pages. Whether or not that satisfies the rules is debatable, but it is there.
  2. I'm on the fence about that. I prefer the away jerseys to be the reverse of the home jerseys too, but the Broncos haven't used non-blue numbers since 1961.
  3. I didn't mind the CR either, I just thought having three blue jerseys was a bad idea. The all-blue from the neck down with a black helmet felt out of balance as well. By itself the jersey is fine, and black socks may have helped to book-end the uniform and create a more balanced look.
  4. I think we missed a team that's eligible for new uniforms next year: the Colts. They changed their number font and added black in 2020. I wasn't a fan of the Color Rush uniforms from last year, but maybe they can figure out a better way to add a third color. Or at least they could develop a non-blue jersey. Having three royal blue jerseys doesn't make sense to me.
  5. If I didn't know better, I'd say the Texans themselves are leaking all this. As for the jerseys, we'll need to see the full uniform. But I'm getting serious Red Sox vibes from the jerseys.
  6. I'm picturing the discussions about new uniforms being developed and released, and I'm getting two primary schools of thought. "If this fails, we always have the classic template styles to fall back on. At least we can say we're trying something new." "This strategy of releasing likely junk worked for Coca-Cola, and it can work for us too." But this thought is not being considered: Don't stray too far from what made you popular. Those who didn't like you may still not like you, and those who did like you may leave you.
  7. Not just that, but the Adams family founded the Oilers. Changing names from the Houston Oilers to the Tennessee Titans doesn't change that. But it does make you appreciate the Browns fighting to retain their history and the NBA's Hornets getting theirs back.
  8. The Texans are going to have four different designs this year. Apparently the home jersey won't have horns. How sad is it that we're saying "another Texans leak"? And it's not even CTESPN doing the leaks this time.
  9. There seems to be a theme with the new uniforms. Jets: throwback style with third jersey Lions: modern take on classic design Broncos: be careful what you wish for with new uniforms Texans: TBD Hopefully at least one of the Texans uniforms will be decent.
  10. Did the Giants reveal a patch for their 100th anniversary? Sorry to break away from the jersey, but I don't remember seeing a patch release.
  11. I think teams can do that. The Texans did that in 2022 with the CR jerseys. The red helmet was only worn with the red jersey that year. While they did wear the red helmet with the CR uniform, that may have just been a style choice or a test run for a combo with the new set. The Ravens may answer that question for us if they are getting a new helmet. The new helmet is supposed to be purple shell, gold facemask. That could work with CR, but the black jersey should stick with the black helmet.
  12. I'm curious. How many people here go on the team feeds and suggest they stop using certain combos? Teams are more likely to read their feeds than this forum to get feedback. If we have reason to believe that's how teams choose their uniforms, we should be saying all of this on their feeds too. Full disclosure: I don't look at their feeds so I may be part of the problem myself.
  13. Understood. I would also accept using white pants instead of all navy.
  14. Excuse my ignorance, but what are you saying with this picture?
  15. This could be good though. The following season, the Rams got rid of the navy jerseys and made the royal blue throwbacks the primaries. Maybe the Broncos will see how bad this looks on the field and lose the white helmets.
  16. It may have, but I'm looking at it like the Ravens and their purple pants. In theory, I'm reversing the orange and white bases. But the numbers on the white jerseys would still be navy, so I admit it's not a perfect swap. The orange jerseys could have worked though. The navy helmets and socks could have created a good bookend for the orange between them.
  17. I'd say they did and they didn't. There was a primary/alternate switch in 2012, which may have extended the shelf life of this set. The mane-like side panels helped the Broncos stand out, but the matching pattern on the pants killed mix-and match potential, for better or worse. I wonder if the Broncos ever considered orange pants with the navy stripes. That could have added a little variety with the white jerseys.
  18. Looks like the Ravens are adding a new helmet. Source: Ravens Adding New Alternate Helmet (uni-watch.com) Based on the color description, this helmet will most likely be for the CR uniform. I'm a little disappointed because I liked that the Ravens were able to stick with one helmet for all jerseys, but at least it will match the CR. I didn't like most of CR, but I did like the uniforms better if the base color matched the helmet shells (such as Steelers, Texans, Vikings).
  19. Are the Vikings adding silver as a team color this year? Last time I checked the Vikings have never used silver, so there's no historical precedent for that color (facemasks don't count). But here's a thought. If this is real, and it's being used for a white-out game, would it be acceptable if the Vikings were then required to wear purple socks with their primaries full time? I could put up with white-out games once per season.
  20. I don't know, purple numbers might be hard to read on black jerseys. The Colorado Rockies have a purple jersey with black numbers and the numbers disappear at 70 feet, which I believe is the closest fans can see on an MLB field. The Rockies use a purple similar to the Ravens, so I would think visibility would be about the same. You would need a thick border to make that work. Gold numbers might work, though. And that could replace the CR purple, which would be a bonus to me.
  21. The Giants already use an alternate helmet for their throwbacks, but I don't know what the Vikings can use. Maybe white to complete the white-out. I'm curious, from one Ravens fan to another, what would you suggest for the Ravens to use? The most likely thing I see is they do what the Lions did this year, swapping purple for blue, except keep the white numbers on the black jersey.
  22. Maybe the Raiders jerseys. But none of those teams use solid color pants.
  23. The Jaguars may have started a bad trend with the oversimplified jerseys and pants. I don't remember any team using plain pants for all color options before them, and they are showing the only real option for making all jerseys and pants interchangeable: make all jerseys look like numbers were added to plain shirts and get single color pants. If teams want pants that look good with primary and alternate jerseys, there is a better way. For example, the Broncos could have white pants with a navy/orange/navy or orange/navy/orange pattern for the primaries and alternate, then have only navy socks if the helmet shell remains unchanged, and then they only need a solid looking jersey template.
  24. I'm embarrassed I didn't think of that. Just don't point that out to Dan Campbell. He won't want his request turned on him like that.
  25. That was fast. It looks like they missed one for the black jersey, black pants and blue socks. Or is this based on the uniform combinations worn in the unveiling?
