  1. I know it won't happen, because $$$, but I really wish the NHL would cool it with the league-wide alternate jersey programs for awhile.  Between the 3rd jerseys and Anniversary jerseys and Winter Classics and Heritage Classics and Stadium Series and two different rounds of Reverse Retros we've had enough throwbacks and faux-backs to last us for awhile.  I'm starting to get a little burned out on the whole thing.

No one should have been expecting a replica of the Fishermen jerseys with no changes.

No, but I think some of us would have preferred the striping pattern be the same with the twist being a different color scheme rather than what we got.

You certainly ain't wrong. One of the best football uniforms of all time.

If it was up to me, they'd wear these full-time, with the 1970s/80s red jerseys as the 3rd.  If you really want to get funky with it throw in an alternate black helmet with a Dirty Birds throwback.

Eagles-Steelers would have looked much better with the Eagles in black socks. The all-white sock trend is starting to get on my nerves.

I get that the players like to wear compression tights or thigh-highs or whatever they like, but surely someone somewhere can come up with tights in appropriate team colors for these guys to wear.  I bet they can even make some with stripes to match the teams uniform socks (if applicable).

  5. The white pants are terrible, and the blue helmets on top of it make them look like a minor junior team that can only afford one set of helmets.  Same jersey with blue pants and white helmet would look fine.

Still think they should have a yoke on the white jersey, but I could live without it.

Why do gray facemasks look so impossibly good on orange helmets?  It just says "football."

Bottom right is Jim Brown at Syracuse, and that's actually a clear plexiglass mask he's wearing in that picture.

Weird too that the NHL is marketing the Nov 2 PIT @ BUF game as a "reverse retro night" but Pittsburgh isn't scheduled to wear theirs.

Yeah, since the Sabres' RR is white they could be wearing it against the opponent's RR in almost every case, but they probably won't.

I understand that they are only using the current colors for the Sabres which doesn’t include grey/silver, but if they weren’t going to use it I wish they picked blue as the base. I think it wouldn’t look as bland but maybe not idk

A shoulder yoke, like they used on the original white goathead jersey, would have helped with that.

A shirt turned up at the Isles store in UBS arena featuring what may be the Reverse Retro 2.0 logo

Doesn't match the descriptions we've heard so far, and the lack of teeth feels weird. But I don't hate it.

Well, it's been 25 years, and Fishing Boat Captain probably doesn't come with a dental plan.

Not a lot that would save this helmet (seems completely unnecessary) but inverting the colors on the C would go a long way. That shade of orange works like a lighter color, which in my mind, signals to make the darker color the outline. If they wanted an orange helmet, they should of just really mixed in up and add stripes or put another logo on there altogether. It's like they wanted to stick to tradition in the most garish of ways.

The C is pretty much invisible from any kind of distance.  Maybe a white C with navy outline would be better.  Also would match the numbers on the orange jersey.

I would think that if players actually saw themselves in tightie tight black pants and black socks (I’m talking about YOU, #90) that they would forever eschew the same color pants/socks look forever.

I heard former Bills C Eric Wood on the pre-game last week talking about uniforms.  Basically the way he described it, the big guys on the team pretty much knew they looked terrible in most of the uni combos they were asked to wear, but were at the mercy of what the skill players thought were 🔥🔥🔥.
