That puts the CHL at 7 teams, and Brampton shouldn't survive the week, honestly, so 6, just like the old Fake IHL. Missouri looks like a definite to survive, and probably Wichita and Tulsa make it to the ECHL absorption, assuming they want to go. Rapid City may go to juniors because it'll be a better geographic fit. For Allen & Quad City, it's probably juniors or death.
Funny that you mentioned it cause the ones I keep reading that would go to the "E" would be Allen, Missouri & Rapid City. Wichita maybe, but Tulsa was rumored to go to the NAHL, I'd be surprised if Quad City survived this whole thing.

A group of Seattle sports, business and political leaders are to make a cross-border pilgrimage next week where they’ll learn more about the National Hockey League firsthand.
The overnight trip to Vancouver, to attend a reception at B.C. Place with sports and tourism officials from that city and then a Canucks hockey game, was planned months ago. But the timing couldn’t be better, given continued negotiations behind the scenes to bring an NHL expansion franchise to this city and a sense the league could begin moving seriously toward that soon after the Olympics in Sochi conclude.
Local sources have said the league has held discussions with potential ownership groups here about what the fee would be to land an expansion franchise to begin play in the 2015-16 season. Reports last summer had pegged it at $275 million, but sources now say they expect the price to be somewhere in the $200 million-to-$250 million range.

Sources say there have been negotiations between the league and potential ownership groups in Seattle about the cost of expansion fees. To the point where the NHL and local officials could be prepared to make some type of announcement shortly after the Olympic Games in Sochi conclude — at a time the NHL hopes nationwide interest in its sport will be at a high point.
Daly makes no promises about when the NHL will announce expansion plans — despite varying levels of interest already expressed by Seattle, Quebec City, Kansas City and the Toronto suburb of Markham, Ont. But he does suggest the league feels it’s finally solidified some of its more unstable franchises as best it can in the short term.
“Our primary objective has been to stabilize the franchises we have where they are,’’ he says. “And I think we’ve done a pretty good job of that. So, as we move into the next phase, it would be a growth phase for the league. And expansion may come up on the agenda at the appropriate time.’’

Bettman acknowledged “time is getting short,” for potential Coyotes owners George Gosbee and Anthony LeBlanc to strike a deal with the City of Glendale to operate the Jobing.com Arena and Daly said the Coyotes’ uncertain status, “means that it’s possible that the team won’t play there next year.
So now the focus is on the landing spot. And unfortunately for the good people of Quebec City, the tea leaves aren’t saying the Coyotes will land in La Belle Province. If the Coyotes move, speculation is they will relocate to Seattle for a variety of reasons.
Moving to Seattle would keep the Coyotes in the west and maintain the integrity of realignment. It would also give the NHL an opportunity to get a foothold in the new $490 million arena that is going to be built in Seattle before the National Basketball Association moves in. There was speculation the Sacramento Kings would move to Seattle, but that possibility was quashed when the team was recently sold and the league’s board of governors rejected a move.
Here’s how things could work. The Gosbee group will buy the team for an announced price of $170 million. That’s the easy part. Then comes the deal with the City of Glendale and whether or not it is willing to spend money it doesn’t have to keep the team there or risk leaving the Jobing.com Arena without a major tenant. Speculation is that if Gosbee’s group cannot come up with a suitable deal to keep the Coyotes in Glendale, Seattle then becomes a viable option. The team would play out of the antiquated Key Arena in Seattle until the new arena is built. It would not be the ideal situation, but it’s the best option at the moment.

EDIT: IMHO, I don't see this happening, this is a long shot, I wouldn't even think the Key Arena would be ready, same with the Tacoma Dome. Then again, weirder things have happened.

That the NHL wants it sooner could be a sign how close this is to ending. If Glendale won't vote to change that $5 million to $16 million then the NHL will need as much time as possible to move them to Quebec or Seattle or wherever.

The fate of the team is it sealed? Nothing is certain, but a daily Phoenix says the team had started selling promotional merchandise training to 40% off.
I wouldn't say Monday but I'd say sooner than later.

Reports that the Potential New Owners have been SIGHTED in the owner's box. You know, like Ice Edge, Hulsizer, and Jamison were. So it'll be another summer of this, won't it. This league is really good at letting people pretend to own the team.

So to all who were hoping that the ACC would be gutted like a fish by the other Conferences over the next few months....bad news.
The ACC is being reported as adopting a conference wide grant of media rights, which would pretty much lock all the member schools in for its duration.
I'm cool with this, I'm happy to see the ACC survive.

I hadn't seen that piece on UNC. Despite what critics say about the rivalry with Duke, I honestly think UNC and UVA are probably the next two dominoes in the Big Ten's plan.
This wouldn't surprise me, although wasn't there the rumor of Georgia Tech going with them as well?

Good news out of the Ottawa Sun. Looks like a decision on the Coyotes is imminent by the league. And the owners as expected are pushing for relocation because they're sick of subsidizing Bettman's failure. It'll either be Quebec or Seattle depending on what the NBA does.

According to Dreger, the NHL may be running out of patience in Phoenix. After years of doing their best to keep the team in Glendale, the league could make a decision on relocating the franchise in advance of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
"It's clear time [is] running out and relocation must be considered," Dreger tweeted.
The TSN analyst listed Quebec City, Seattle and Kansas City among relocation sites, none of them new options to puckheads.

So does anybody realy think navy is gonna stick around in the "America 12" conference or they leave before 2015 and say oh UMASS get the spot? Great way to piss off your last northeast school(uconn). So how soon do uconn, Cincy and USF leave? And who replaces the teams leaving the CAA & SoCon? What's the rumor on where JMU is going, A-10 I assume?
Rumor I heard was JMU is going to go to the MAC in Football while possibly going to the A-10 in the rest of the sports or just MAC all together, JMU wants to upgrade their program, I wouldn't be surprised if Delaware does the same. Same rumblings kept going on with Montana going to Mountain West & the WAC before the WAC died out.

The presidents of the Big East's seven Catholic schools -- DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall, St. John's and Villanova -- met with their athletic directors in New York on Wednesday and will announce new membership for the new Big East within 7-10 days, according to a source who had first-hand knowledge of the meeting.
Rumors include Creighton, St.Louis, Xavier, Butler & Dayton with Richmond being a long shot. IMO, I wouldn't be surprised if VCU gets involved in the future. Not now though.

I like Daytona's & South Bend's rebrand. They look sharp. Pawtucket in all honesty I felt really didn't need a change. Meanwhile, I feel that OKC is a big downgrade.
