The Vancouver Canucks continue their efforts to ensure the Manitoba Moose don't do anything significant by allowing the Moose's top talent (read: not necessarily top performers, although Reid was both) to slip off to Europe!

Thanks a bunch to the parent club!

Also... what about the most famous member of the list, the Bruins' Joe Thornton... isn't that what inspired the list?

Don't forget Joe Thornton, it was all over the news yesterday that he's off to Switzerland. B)

DETROIT :

Marc Lamothe, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Russia (June 15th)

Story about Lamothe: Back in Grade 6 (Waaaaay back in the day ^_^ , 2000) we had one of those student teachers come in from Ottawa U through a co-op program, I guess. She was strikingly beautiful, I can still remember her gorgeousness, four years later. Anyhoo she was Marc's girlfriend at the time, he was a back-up's back-up in Columbus, I believe. It was the start of their off-season when he came and visited us and gave us a lecture on never giving up and following your dreams, because that's what heppened to him. Nice guy, but I guess his dreams never came true if he was Legace's backup last year in DET. Don't know how he ended up with her, either.

Yeah, that's my interesting story. :hockeysmiley:

These are players that are GUAREETEED to be playing in Europe, even if their is NHL in 2004/05. If their is hockey, Thornton will return to the NHL.
