What should be the general uniform guidelines for your favorite league?

NHL- Teams should be allowed to pick what jersey they want to wear for home and away. Home team gets first preference. Teams get up to two alts. (So White can be an alt like the caps.) But all alts can't add up to more than 15 games. Throwbacks for anniversaries can exceed that total. Playoffs can be any jersey, home team picks color preference first.

My favorite is college football, so:

  • White and school colors only
  • One dark jersey and one white jersey. That's it.
  • One helmet.
  • You can get a bit creative for a bowl game (like TCU's frog with a rose in its mouth or Wisconsin's rose-patterned numbers) but you must use school colors
  • Changes only allowed every five years

Other things:

  • NFL: Pretty similar to college...just not enough football games for alts.
  • MLB:
    • One alternate jersey to be worn 16 times or fewer (i.e., 10%).
    • Alts have to be in team colors (i.e., no camo)
    • Primaries only in postseason
    • Throwbacks once a year (maybe even with rules about anniversaries every 5 years)...not part of the standard rotation.
    • If home team wears alt, road team cannot

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

I thought about this, but it would just lead to less grey v white games, i would think
