72freebie
Hey everyone. I just recently bought illustrator and I must say that I a having a lot of fun with it. I have wanted to get into more logo design and you can expect so start seeing some more from me. For my first project, I thought that would do a rebrand of the OKC Thunder because they really need one. I went with the buffalo theme that has been used a lot but I feel that this logo is my own Any help would be fantastic as I am just getting into stuff like shading. Please tell me what you think. Also I haven't figured out how to uplad the vector file yet so I have it as a ng file right now. If anyone could help me out that would be greatly appreciated. Point1
Some good ideas here, you just have to condense them into a cohesive logo. I would make half the logo the ball (and thicken the lightning line - but keep it because it's a good idea). Then make the other half the bison's head, tilted down a bit more. Generally thicken your lines up significantly, makes a huge difference between something looking like a logo and something looking like an illustration. OKC is one of those teams whose logo is really bad but yet I've never seen a concept for them that I like. This has a lot of potential.
Krz
I'd look at buffalo pictures and shape the head to be more buffalo like Excellent!
Broncoboy7
Here is what I am thinking. The buffalo head should be on the basketball and have a "Thunder" wordmark around it. That's just my idea.
72freebie
Here is update number 1. I brightened up the detailing a bit and made some of it thicker. I also thickened all of the outlines and adjusted some of the lines. I think its looking better already.
appleclock
If you're just starting out in illustrator, I think the best advice anyone could give you would be to practice with line width. Specifically the line width tool, which allows you to alter the thickness of individual lines in different places. This makes a huge difference in giving your work dimesion. Krz
This in comparison to your logo, yours looks a little squashed to me Excellent!
