So I kept the same blocking of the home jersey and then added some additional smaller stripes as a nod to some of their older uniforms as the Cougars and Falcons. It feels very outdated to me and if it wasn't for the Gretzky years it wouldn't get a pass like it does. So I replaced it with roundel logo that keeps a lot of the same elements, but modernizes them. The striping stays essentially the same but I added an orange block to the bottom the torso as well and the away gets closer matching striping to the home. For the alternate I went with the oil worker logo. I think the road/alts would benefit from a white/black instead of an additional orange stripe to give a bit more balance to the colour scheme (orange / gold sticks might also help) While I don't have any issues with the existing Hurricanes logo I like the one you've used here - and that alone makes this set way better than their existing home and roads. The alternate I think could go either way. johne9109 Posted July 11 Author Share Posted July 11 Florida Panthers I don't see the Panthers making any changes especially now that we've won the cup, but everyone wants the leaping cat back. I didn't go full throwback and used the modernized version as well as using horizontal striping rather than the original diagonal striping. I also added in the light blue from the Reverse Retro 2.0 as a tertiary color. johne9109 Posted July 12 Author Share Posted July 12 Los Angeles Kings I'll be honest, I don't care for the Kings going back to the Gretzky look. I was excited when it was reported that they would be modernizing and updating the logo to it and then it was revealed and was left with the feeling of "that's it?" They just slightly changed the angle of the overall shape and put a different crown; if you showed me the new logo without telling me I'd think it was the original and I wasn't the biggest fan of it in the first place. It's slightly better than what they were wearing, but this feels like the first big misstep in the "let's got retro for nostalgia movement." That's just me though and I know a lot of people like it, but if it were up to me this is what I would've like to see the Kings do. First is going back to purp- *ahem* forum blue and gold. The striping is partly inspired from the alternate that they introduced in 2021, but instead I've used the modern crown just recolorized. It's simple, but effective. I didn't completely leave out the Gretzky look however; it is iconic and black and silver is a huge part of the Kings history. johne9109 Posted July 13 Author Share Posted July 13 Minnesota Wild When the Wild first released their Reverse Retros I was like a lot of people and thought they should change to those uniforms, but now that we are a little removed from that I don't think they need to go to them full time. However, from different reports it seems like they will be changing to them within the next couple seasons. So I went with that idea, but made some changes. The away remains mostly unchanged. I did add a secondary logo that is a merging of the M from the Wild's wordmark logo and the North Stars logo. I did also change the numbers to the old Wild font to help it feel more Wild and less North Stars. The home I made to match the away more. We get an additional yellow block at the bottom of the sleeves and torso, as well as yellow shoulders. johne9109 Posted July 15 Author Share Posted July 15 Nashville Predators I feel like the Preds are on the verge of having some great jerseys; I did my best here to fix what is keeping their jerseys from being really good. First thing was to change up their logo. I personally think the logos they've had are overly designed and keeps them from being good timeless feeling logos. So I found this logo by @B-mer and felt it kept the essence of the Preds logo while taking out the excess elements. I have always liked the guitar strings in the numbers for Nashville so I took that element and made it into the striping of the home and away jersey as well. One of the biggest critiques of the Preds jerseys are that there's too much yellow. So I added a blue shoulder yoke while keeping the guitar pic secondary logo. I also went with red shoulders on the away. Not sure if it's an improvement, but I think it works a little better with the striping set up. The idea for the alternate came from a conversation with a buddy who is a huge Devils fan. johne9109 Posted July 17 Author Share Posted July 17 New York Islanders The Islanders are a team similar to the Oilers where I think their logo is outdated, but gets a pass because of their past success. So my first step was getting a new logo for the Islanders. I like their lighthouse logo from teh fisherman days, but it isn't strong enough to be a primary mark. So I found this concept logo by Quentin Brehler that was what I was looking for. It uses the lighthouse as a base and then adds an anchor to the bottom and NY surrounding it. The striping remains mostly the same, but I added in the teal from the fisherman days. The alt is a drastic take on the Fisherman look. I love the fisherman logo, but the jersey design is a bit much. I can see not wanting the gold and orange to touch. I had retooled the striping a little here, but those colors are still touching. IMO the Rangers are the only team that should have a diagonal wordmark (or really a wordmark in general); so that does not change. I did however make the home keep Rangers and have the away with a New York wordmark; similar to what they did in the late 70's and for some one offs. The home jersey also gets a little bit of a change. I made the striping and shoulders match the away; this gives the home jersey some more red which makes the red pants make more sense to me. I then took their current home jersey and put the shield logo on it. So I didn't want to completely reinvent the wheel for them; just take it into a modern look. First thing I wanted to do was change their logo. It's a great logo, probably the best they've had, but it is dated. They have a updated version that was created back in 07, but it was never used as a main crest. I promoted it to main crest because it's a nice modern improvement on their logo. Next I wanted to do something with their striping that sets them apart from other teams that employ the same colors. johne9109 Posted July 25 Author Share Posted July 25 Philadelphia Flyers So I like that the Flyers have their look and they stick too it; it helps them really stand out against other teams. However, when they revealed their new uniforms it made me realize they were kind of out dated and needed just some extra oomph. So I looked to their 1st Reverse Retro and it was really a stellar look that I just don't think a lot of people realized anything was reverse about it, but the 80's Flyers look had white shoulders and arms and reversing it to black made the uniform look like a modernization of their current set. The home is essentially the away from the 80's with some modifications to the coloring in the sleeves. For the alternate I knew I wanted a black main color and then recolored the logo based on that. I then made striping that mimicked the "wings" in the Flyers logo. The standout to me is the orange bucket. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

So similar to what I did with Philly I used their Reverse Retro, this time 2.0, and then used their original white jersey from that era. For the alt I wanted to go with a design that featured the traditional logo but free of the triangle; similar to the idea behind their 2017 Stadium Series. I approach was a little more as if the Triangle design enveloped the rest of the jersey. The main color is yellow with black towards the bottom of the jersey. I like that they dropped orange from their color scheme and using teal equipment looks great. So those elements remain the same. One thing I did want to do is return gray into their color scheme so I used the teal space between the black and white stripes and made that gray. I also recolored the logo so that the main color of the shark is gray. For the alt I took what they did with their current alt and dialed it up.
