shiznit1083
Hey guys, I know a few of you have Illustrator and I was hoping someone could help me out. I was trying to figure out how to arch letters, but with the letters still upright (not tilting the letters to create an arched effect. Your help as always is appreciated. Phil
On Illustrator 10, there are two different effects... one called arc, which does what you want, and one called arch (note spelling difference), which does what you described you don't want. These are both under the 'envelope distort' feature. rtrich11
If you are in Illustrator 9 you are stuck. The only way to get it to work is with a plug-in or to import the vectors from another program. Once you get the right tool, it's all fine and dandy. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
jefrsn
Letraset used to make a plugin for illustrator called envelopes. This is where the feature in Illustrator 10 came from. If you can find that plugin, you can do it in 9.

STL FANATIC
SyPhi, you describe arc and arch, but there is also another way, albeit it does what shiznit does not want...That is typing text on a path. So you can make a circle and have the text follow that path. This is Illustrator 10. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
