Frenchie
Hey, I'll squeeze this one under "SPORTS" since they have been a major sponsor of NASCAR.So here's my question: I seem to recall a conversation, may have been on a NASCAR SIM Painting site or on a NASCAR TV SHow, where they discuss Yellow Transportation's logo using ORANGE as their colour.Anybody has any background on that? @Frenchie_TO Owner of the Rochester Americans of the MLH Owner of the Toronto Frenchies of the GCFHL6
pcgd
they do: http://www.myyellow.com/As far as why, I'm guessing one of two things. Yellow wasn't a dark enough color to be the primary color or that the name is because of a family name or something.
Discrim
I always wonder about that whenever a Yellow truck passes the bus I'm on. the trucks themselves are, as mentioned, always a slightly yellowish orange. JetsLuvver
From the Yellow Website:Yellow Roadway Corp. traces its origins to 1924 when A.J. Harrell, an Oklahoma City entrepreneur, founded a bus and taxi company and named it Yellow Cab Transit Co. In 1926, he shortened the name to Yellow Transit Co.In 1929, AJ was concerned about road safety, so he commissioned the E.I. DuPont Co. to determine the color that would be most visible on the tractors from the greatest distance on the nation's highways. DuPont's research found the color Swamp Holly Orange. We still use this color on Yellow trucks today.
