TBGKon
Myself and a couple of guys at work were discussing spring training and were trying to come up with a system so that all Grapefruit League teams play eachother, unlike the way it is now in which Gulf coast teams (Yankees, Rays, Phils, etc.) never get to play Atlantic coast teams (Dodgers, Cards, Marlins, Nats, etc.). The teams in the middle of the state (Braves, Stros, Tigers, Indians) seem to split the coasts and play a little of each. Here is an idea we came up with:Split into 3 divisions of 6 (since there are 18 teams). Divisions are as follows:West FloridaBlue Jays (Dunedin)Devil Rays (St. Petersburg)Phillies (Clearwater)Pirates (Bradenton)Reds (Sarasota)Yankees (Tampa)Central FloridaAstros (Kissimmee)Braves (Disney World)Dodgers (Vero Beach)Indians (Winter Haven)Nationals (Melbourne)Tigers (Lakeland)South FloridaCardinals (Jupiter)Marlins (Jupiter)Mets (St. Lucie)Orioles (Ft. Lauderdale)Red Sox (Ft. Myers)Twins (Ft. Myers)We tried making a schedule based off of this to play all teams, but could not figure out a good setup. if you have an idea or would like to discuss, post it here. CC97
Divisions are fine with me, but I don't see a purpose in playing all the other teams in the state... spring means squat, not worth all the travelling around.Go with the three divisions, play only within the division, teams will be happier. --- Chris Creamer Founder/Editor, SportsLogos.Net "The Mothership" • News • Facebook • X/Twitter • Instagram
Swiss
Don't give that idea for free to MLB. First, put it a price. It's great to be young and a Giant! - Larry Doyle
