From Vic Carucci's Tuesday Huddle...

"It might not seem fair, but it is Owens, not the media, that has done the most to put himself in the middle of such a combustible environment. The fact his injured hamstring has kept him from practicing and, therefore, playing in a preseason game and that he could very well see limited playing time when the regular season begins is not good for Owens or the Dallas Cowboys. If the Cowboys can succeed without him, as they've demonstrated through a strong preseason, his importance will diminish and he is likely to react in a way that is only going to continue to bring the wrong kind of attention his way. If they struggle without him, then he will be seen as someone who is letting the team down. Another potentially huge problem is that he has been unable to develop any sort of chemistry with quarterback Drew Bledsoe."
