EatSleepJeep
Twins: Kirby PuckettMinnesota loves the Puckhttp://www.baseballmusings.com/archives/34-thumb.jpgMLB made the Twins pull this and they subsequently put one on each baseline. Well, this Twins fan voted for Killebrew. But I have good reason. Harmon was my boyhood hero. Sports heroes from your youth always trump sports heroes from your adulthood. As for the whole list, there were a lot of no-brainers. Hank Aaron. Ted Williams. Ernie Banks. Pete Rose. Bob Feller. Nolan Ryan and Nolan Ryan. George Brett. Tom Seaver. Babe Ruth remains the mightiest of the Yankees. Mike Schmidt. Roberto Clemente. Willie Mays. Joe Carter. And, yes, Gary Carter if you're talking about the franchise (but I do agree that they should have allowed per city, not franchise). With Carew, Tony O, Killebrew, Hrbek, and Puckett is a tough choice. But Puck to me is the face of the Twins. Killebrew comes in a close second. A title would have helped his cause. harperdc
a good choice for the Mariners would have also been Edgar Martinez, who spent his whole career with the M's and was key in the franchise's best seasons.if this was done 10 years from now, Ichiro would probably be up there too.and I wish Griffey hadn't left

pooter
Cincy: Pete Rose Suprised MLB let him be a candidate. No surprise that he won.Why does that surprise you?MLB always trots Pete out when it suits them.Remember the All-Century Team and Baseball's Greatest Moments events?
