Mike Felder
I apologize if this has been tackled here already; I looked and couldn't find anything. But does anyone know why the Tigers use a different "D" on their uniforms than they do on their hats? They are similar, but definitely not the same. I like them both (I think the Tigers may have the best home jerseys in baseball) but never knew why they are different.
floydnimrod
The differences may be because the "D" on the hat is smaller and it is difficult to recreate an exact replica of the "D" that appears on the front of the Tigers' home uniform. IceCap
All ready covered.http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?showtopic=42475The reason behind it is that the uniforms were originally designed when matching all the elements of a uniform wasn't a big deal. It's just never been fixed. It's the same reason why the Yankees have two "NY" logos. Swiss
Simple! Watch the two ends of the D (at left, up and down)... in the cap they are very open, pointing more to up and to down. In the jersey, they are smooth. It's great to be young and a Giant! - Larry Doyle
