The USA will be wearing pink jerseys for a Susan G. Komen breast cancer game, and then for a June friendly, gold from head to toe. And the match ball will be gold, too. The odd thing about that second game? We're playing Brazil, whose normal jersey is gold.I think it's an Eric Heiden thing ..There is one factual error, though. It is not the first time the US women have worn a special jersey; in 1995, the women wore a light blue jersey as a one-off. Every other time, our women have worn white, royal, navy, or red. MJWalker45
The light blue jersey was Nike's attempt to have a third shirt for the national teams. The men wore them as well. I wonder if the gold jerseys are in honor of Foudy and Hamm entering the Hall of Fame?

Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness.
