The outdoor game in Buffalo January 1st is apparently a go!

http://www.wkbw.com/sports/9345086.html

My dad called me in the middle of the day yesterday to share the news. I must be at that game.

I will be there for sure. It'll be the best atmosphere for a regular season game in Buffalo, EVER.

Honestly, will it be cold enough for this game? I know that in Southern Ontario that having snow on the ground and staying there is iffy until Mid-January. It's kind of a big gamble to schedule for January 1st. Plus you got the Bowl games to worry about.

I can just about guarantee upstate New York will not have a team playing in a January 1st game, and the BCS games are spread out over a couple of days now.

In the paper today they said, on average, the high temp for Jan 1 is 38F, and the highest ever was 60something. It is pretty iffy. I say 25% chance of postponement, probably on Feb 17. I remember this year people went golfing on New Years.

The only non-weather hitch is.....

(don't laugh)

if the Bills come 3rd or 4th in the Conference. That would mean a home playoff game the Saturday or Sunday after this Tuesday game, I believe the NFl has some sort of rule against this, but an exception could be made.

As a pens fan, I really really want to go to this, but Id be really scared if I did...

...I mean, come on. Whats scarier to a road-team fan than 70,000+ Sabres fans in one place?

*Thinks about Caps-Sabres game he attended with only 5000 Sabres fans.*

*Shudders*
