scottyvoodoo
Don't know the answer, but got to say it's great to have a sports trivia game that doesn't just use the big 4 North American leagues.Oh if I had to guess it would be Essendon.

BB61
Fitzroy - 1916http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1916_VFL_season2-9-1, Perhaps with the worst ever record to win a championship in any sport Correct! After winning the first two matches and then drawing in the third round of the war depleted season, the Lions went on to lose their next nine matches to finish the year. As there were only four clubs that season, everyone who fielded a club was eligible for the finals. Fitzroy took down Collingwood in the first round, and then faced the task of needing to defeat 10-2 Carlton not once, but twice back-to-back in order to win while avoiding loss in both games. As it turns out, the 'Roys did it, became the losingest champions of any sport.
Alphabet Man
Only 4 teams competed that year, the rest were affected by players going to the war. twitter.com/thebrainofMatt
