Just try to find the biggest image possible, so it's less pixely. It also helps to directly copy and paste into Inkscape, rather than saving the image first. I'm not sure what he means about images, but I'm assuming he's refering to logos, wordmarks, etc.Also files that end in .SVG are vectors, but you can't copy them you have to save them first and then open them in inkscape.
