the_cynic Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 This article pissed me off. May I first off say that the U and Y have been going at this for years. There's a U in Salt Lake City and there's a Y in Provo. Every year they both paint the other's U or Y with their schools colors. It's just a little innocent rivalry tradition. Have you ever seen a case like this?Deseret News Article Utah Jazz Retired Number's#1 - Frank Layden - #7 Pete Maravich - #12 John Stockton - #14 Jeff Hornacek - #35 Darrell Griffith - #53 Mark EatonRetired Number's To Come#00 The Bear (Best Mascot In NBA) - #4 Adrian Dantley - #32 Karl "The Mailman" Malone
winters in buffalo Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 It may be tradition, but it's still a crime. Someone should have told them that it's also tradition to not get caught.
IowaFan26 Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 It may be tradition, but it's still a crime. Someone should have told them that it's also tradition to not get caught. Which could have been easily avoided by not taking pictures. What a bunch of morons. If it's been going on between the two though and it was easily covered up by some paint. Just make the kids pay for the paint needed to cover up the vandalism. 15 years in prison for painting a bunch of red U's on a Y that can be easily covered up?
mac Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 I go to a school Called Dublin Coffman and our nickname is the shamrocks, but everyone calls us the rocks, anyways we have this really big rock outside the football stadium that the students paint upcoming event anouncenments on and stuff like that, well this past fall our rival school Hilliard Davidson came and painted the rock blue, but as they were painting it 25 dublin cops showed up and arrested 118 of the painters, Then the next week we beat them in a state playoff game. It was hilarious Hilliard looked like the biggest jackasses because for one the rock is almost never school colors anyways so painting it a different color is stupid, they all got arrested and then they got crushed in football. Nobody retaliated because we didn't have to the Hilliard kids did it for us.
mac Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 well the cop cars have video of the kids throwing paint on the cops and the cars, that's what really got the kids arrested, that and being drunk, punks.
winters in buffalo Posted May 22, 2004 Posted May 22, 2004 Why is it considered tradition to paint on another school? They call it a hate crime if you paint on another church.
