Ha ha, the Yankees didn't have to change their name during WWII to avoid Nazi connotations, so doing that would defeat the purpose of this set. It's not a "Baseball teams for fringe political ideologies", it's specifically for the Reds, as I explained in the OP.

@John in KY, that was the point of the concept. Sort of a tongue-in-cheek "what if" concept that shows the Reds as being named in connection with Communism, even though we know they never were.

Oh I know your concept was tongue-in-cheek and is quite funny as we sit here nearly 60 years after the fact - and I should have said so in my original post.

I was just answering hockey time's question about what happened back in the day - that some people of the time were so stupidly manipulated about that issue that they forced a very historic team to temporarily change its identity.

This is fun, I like the thought you put into this. Love the Fidel cap on whatever that things name is. I'd rework the number font, maybe make it a bit blockier?

Weird idea, but nice. Love the sleeve patch, the one with the half-gear, I mean. That baseball-head guy is just creepy. He looked better when he was clean-shaven, imo.

The Communist logo is much creepier than the baseball guy to me. Yikes.

What's next, the Houston Astros using a Swastika?

Again, this is a tongue-in-cheek re-imagining based on the Red Scare re-naming. The Astros never had to change their name because of ideological connotations (real or imagined), so no that isn't next.
