Cale Yarborough led all 500 laps at a Bristol race in 1973. Going wire to wire in Nascar has only happen twice otherwise, Yarborough did it again at Nashville in 1978, and Jeff Burton lead every lap at New Hampshire in 2000

Or a another definition for a NASCAR "prefect race" is having no cautions in a race. This list includes the 1959 Daytona 500.

"So look at yourself. Are you somebody to see good in your world or somebody to oppose the other person or party?"

Leading every lap is far more impressive for that person that won than having a race go with no cautions which just means no one screwed up. Leading every lap means you were perfect every lap, and your pit crew was perfect every pit stop, and you stayed in the lead no matter what happened in the track.

Having a NASCAR race without a caution'll never happen again—not because of drivers but because they're bound to throw some debris onto the track to force a caution at some point.
