That's what I do when my concepts cross someone else's idea, they usually give me permission. I'm really hating that bevel look you are doing, just looks like you took a flat image and used Power Point image effects on it. It was heavily inspired probably due to someone recommending you use a star based soccer ball. That's what's really doing it. It's up to you though.
