  1. No, because that's how all their retired numbers look now: Which is strange, because it's a number font that the Kings have never used. The NOB font is similar to their current NOB font (or it is that). If anything, it resembles the name/number font of these jerseys worn just down the road:
  2. As someone who was actually in the building, it was full. it was definitely full during the ceremony. It was full early. Some people left once they got down 3-1 after one. (It was a long night and people are dumb? I don't know.) Despite all the hassles for non season ticket holders to get tickets (or for anyone to get or even afford merchandise), it was still a standing room only sell out, and it was fantastic.
  3. Let's play a game called Count the Caniacs! 1... 2... 3...
  4. They could keep the Admirals moniker if they do go to San Diego, with the Navy presence and all. (Although, if it is San Diego, I fully expect Gulls.) Or if they went to Long Beach, they could pull it off with the Seal Beach base right there and the port, obviously. But speaking of Long Beach: I don't know if Long Beach would work at the AHL level if it's not a Ducks or Kings affiliate. At the IHL and ECHL level, it worked for what it was. But say if the Sharks went into Long Beach instead of Stockton/Fresno/San Jose, Ducks/Kings fans aren't going to go watch the Sharks prospects. (There would be even less of a care if it was Calgary or Vancouver.) Stockton and then Fresno should be higher on the list than Long Beach. (Although if they went to Long Beach, I'd be applying for jobs yesterday.) Why would that be a disaster? If you're saying that they just cycle through the five teams over and over, then yeah maybe. There's going to have to be some schedule adjustments to make this all work. Didn't they kind of do this with their Texas/OKC circuit? As for the ECHL, they could probably stand to be a little bit more EC than they've been since the mergers, anyway.
  5. Kosher Kingdom's Chanukah on Ice on Lexus Rink at BB&T Center during Florida Panthers hockey presented by Party City.
  6. Ottawa already is a two-arena town. You forget the 67s still play at the Civic Centre (or whatever corporate name it now has).A fwo modern, 20,000 seat NHL-caliber arena town. The Civic Center is barely a high school gymnasium.
  7. I think the obvious answer is a cyborg recreation of the original Silver Seven, that's right a 2nd Ottawa team.At least their banners would finally be legit.
  8. Then what the hell happens to the Scotiabank Tire Palladium? It's not like its old or out of date. And Ottawa doesn't exactly seem like a two arena town.
  9. Yeah, the Ducks played that after big saves he made the first couple years. (It was later changed to the Superman theme music. Meh.)
  10. From the BoG meetings (from my ESPN app notification): NHL allows potential Las Vegas owner the right to hold ticket drive to gauge interest So basically, this thing is real, folks.
  11. What if the NHL flips the script on us a la Atlanta/Phoenix, and Carolina moves instead of Florida?
  12. Two things: 1) Canes wore white at home vs Nashville 2) "9,161 people" saw them:
  13. Matt Parker and Trey Stone live in Manhattan Beach. At some point, they became Kings fans. (I'll give them credit. It was before the Cups.) So then they worked with the Kings to make the animation.
  14. I can vouch that they do in Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Jose, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, St. Louis, Detroit, Ottawa, and Montreal. Pretty sure it's all NHL venues, adsy.
  15. No. Player Position Career Date of honour 1 [url="/wik15 jersey numbers for 18 players over 104 seasons or 54 seasons since the first in 1960. Not quite every year Maybe, but 12 of those were retired after the 93´ win, that is 12 in 20 years, if they continue the trend, my point will still be valid.- When you're the Montreal freaking Canadiens, one of the most iconic franchises in all of professional sports anywhere, you can kind of do that thing. It's the same thing as Yankees and Monument Park. Is is a little over the top? Maybe, but you know why they do it? Because they can. Same with the Habs, or the Lakers, or the Celtics, or the Packers, or etc. It's ridiculous for the Miami Heat to do what they do. Not for the Montreal Canadiens to do what they do.
  16. Why not hang them on the same side that the Kings hang theirs? That'd be fine. They can still cover up the Lakers banners if it makes them feel better.
  17. Yeah that boggles me. Not nearly as weird as the Shane Doan/Desert/Rocky Mountain Fever or whatever the hell he had.
  18. Comparatively, Coyotes-Stars in Glendale netted an announced 11,866.
  19. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/doug-cifu-florida-panthers-owner-admits-team-losing-millions-1.2823450 Link might not work as I'm in phone. From Shawn Thornton: “I think after nine years in the minors, I don’t really pay attention to the crowd that much anyways when I’m out there. I can block it out.” Spoken truly like a man only there for the paycheck.
  20. Born and raised in Orange County, CA, USA - So, Ducks, Angels, Lakers, Galaxy/LAFC, USMNT. Makes sense. NFL: Colts - Would've been a Rams fan (and will be if they return), but they left when I was five. Despite going to one game a year, never latched onto the Chargers. When I started paying more attention to football when I got into high school, the Colts were on TV a lot. I liked the uniforms and I like Peyton Manning and the way he commanded the field, so I got hooked. I still root for Peyton on the Broncos, but I'm first and foremost a Colts fan. (Again, however, if the Rams return to LA, I'll pick them back up.) (I also root for the Cardinals a bit, because my family thought it'd be fun to get season tickets when they opened up their new stadium, so I've been to more than a few games including this December's Seattle game. And the NY Giants because of family ties and Eli Manning.) NCAA: Football: Arizona State - Attended the school. I gave them money, they gave me one hell of an experience and a college football team. (I also root for Texas A&M, as my mother was an Aggie. And a tertiary like of Notre Dame, because of my family and being Irish Catholics) NCAA: Everything else: Long Beach State - School I'm currently attending. No football team, but they've got everything else, including pretty good basketball teams and a great baseball team. Soccer: English Premier League: Manchester United - This is the kind of stupid one haha. Got hooked on soccer from the 2006 World Cup. I had also recently seen the movie Eurotrip. In that movie, the characters stumble into a Manchester United supporters bar. At the time, I thought Manchester United was a completely made up and fictional soccer team. When I found out that they were a real soccer team, I knew I had to be a fan. So I didn't pick Manchester United because of the history and the titles and the traditions or any of it, but because I thought it was a joke haha Soccer: Scottish Premier League: Celtic FC - I have Scottish heritage, and my family is Catholic, and I also have Irish heritage and liked Robbie Keane. All signs point to Celtic.
