Every single 24 scheme would be dramatically improved if they would go back to using the proper gold numbers on every car. Keeping the number color that iconic gold would help the car look a lot more like the iconic cars Jeff Gordon ran that made the number famous. The Pods scheme isn't too bad but the Z and Relay schemes are embarrassing.
I'm of the opinion that when Gordon left the car, they should have changed the font. I also think that Austin Dillon's 3 should have a different font from the Earnhardt 3 and Bowman's 48 should be a different font. Basically, if someone stays with a number long enough to have it primarily be associated with them, then the next guy should have a different font.

Rockhurst old: woof. I can definitely see why they're changing, I just wonder who thought a blob with a randomly sprouted beak counted as a hawk.
I get it, but it would've been cooler if they'd have modernized that logo. At the very least, it would've been cool if they kept the R-Cross mark in the package.

Don't think this was posted, but American International, a D2 school out of Massachusetts that plays D1 hockey, updated its logo

I hate current minimalism trend. Basically everyone could be a designer right now because it just about finding a proper font. No other skill is needed anymore.
You and me both. It's all about what apparently looks good on a smartphone app icon, despite the fact that plenty of those icons are full-on pictures that look just fine and that most people aren't clamoring for apps for the companies changing their logos anyway.

They're getting rid of their 130 year-old script logo for the corporation and replacing it with a sans serif wordmark.
The original script will still be used, for now, on consumer products that will be made by Kenvue, a new company spun off from J&J, who is focusing on pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Their reasoning included the fact that kids aren't learning cursive anymore in schools.

Interesting... a school exclusively for learning disabled students and those with disorders like ADHD. I suppose if Gallaudet can have athletics, there's no reason why Beacon can't.

Has the SDSU work been scrubbed from the net? I can't find images anywhere, but I know they were out there at some point.
I can't find it, either. I know PDW featured them on their portfolio a while back, but the Wayback Machine doesn't have the images.

I wish the same for UMass Lowell. The worst part about Lowell is that the wordmarks in the logo are in Impact, but all the uniforms use Under Armour's Premier font.

That new Davidson cat feels way more generic than the previous one. Maybe it's the grey that was added in, maybe it's the three-quarter view instead of the front-facing view, maybe it's the lack of the diamond. I would look at that wildcat logo and never be able to distinguish it as uniquely Davidson.
I also love how the article on Davidson's website mentions "an expert design firm" but doesn't mention which one. That tells me that that firm likely isn't proud of the work.

All these years and Phoenix is still rolling out Berthold City??
Phoenix hasn't changed. I feel bad for Yuba students. Lots of schools are going away from their PDW-designed identities, and here is Yuba getting one.

I just want to say how much I love this entire series and how much thought you put into the whole thing. You clearly take your time and consider every element of the uniform, and don't churn out a bunch of concepts with similar number fonts (like someone else on here does).

Both Delaware State and Siena were Phoenix designs. Ineteresting they both get upgrades at same time.
The fewer Phoenix logos are out there, the better. If only UMass Lowell would follow suit and drop their Phoenix-designed identity...

Pertinent to this site, this is the logo that Union has put out with the nickname. I actually like the nickname.
What’s in a name? Union explores a new nickname and mascot | Union College This article explains why they changed it from Dutchmen in the first place. Basically, it seems like people just didn't connect with the nickname, which seems to have never been formally adopted in the first place.

Neither Griffin logos are great, but why on earth did they decide to thin out all the shading and strokes on the new one? Looks like a crappy high school team logo from the late 80s.
Frankly, they could've just used the one from the seal

Knowing it was spring training, there were maybe 4-5 major leaguers playing a few innings, then it was just prospects probably. It was an accomplishment for sure, but its not like they beat guys like Harper, Schwarber, and such for a 9 inning game.
Oh, I know that for sure. But it still an accomplishment, given that the college teams rarely beat the pro teams and that every UT player that day was younger than every Phillies player that day. Plus, it's a D2 team, not a D1.
-
That U of Dallas monogram is a huge downgrade as well. The previous one was timeless, and is good enough to have been used for both athletics and academics. This one already feels dated.

Florida Southern (9) and University of Tampa (8) are the top two programs for D2 baseball national championships as well.
UT also beat the Phillies in an exhibition in 2015.

Nova Southeastern are the reigning D2 men's basketball champions. The Miami Dolphins training facility used to be on their campus as well.

Thye should have freshened up the look a little in my opinion. The name change was the least of the "logo" concern.
Honestly, I see no reason to change if they don't have to. The CAA logo is a perfectly fine conference logo. It's easily legible, yet the tight kerning makes it unique enough. Plus, they've had some version of it, according to the mothership, for 20 years.

The new FDU marks were done by the same firm that did the St. Peter's refresh. The fonts look pretty similar. I miss the chess piece logo. That was unique.

I wonder if that font is a generic New Balance font, used in the same way that UMass Lowell uses a generic Under Armour font.
