If the Riders were ever going to make the retros permanent, they would have done it by now.  I'm not saying they shouldn't, but it's actually a pretty smart business move not doing it, as they can sell the modern gear and the retro stuff.

    No argument.

    Just a personal opinion.

This set cannot get gone soon enough.

    Agreed.

I also hate the helmet. It looks much worse on TV than it did in the promotional pictures.
I think the logo just kind of blends in, if that makes sense?

I get it, there is a history of the Argo wearing this colour helmet going back to the first non-leather helmets and this is the 150th anniversary season. There's also a reason they haven't had this colour as the primary colour on their helmet since the late 50s/early 60s.

Maybe Montreal should have gone with white numbers, letters and stripes instead of gray/silver. I think it would have visually popped more against the blue and black.

That would have made the most sense so, in a weird way that only makes sense with this club, it makes sense that they didn't do that.

  4. Well.....the next few years will be interesting for the Toronto Rock.

As many know, the First Ontario Centre is about to go under huge renovations.

They lost the CEBL's Honey Badgers to Brampton permanently. The OHL's Bulldogs have moved to Brantford and it's up in the air if they will return or not (I suspect they will).

Now the Rock have announced they will start next season in Hamilton and move to Mississauga to complete the year and stay there until the  renovations are complete in Hamilton.

A 3rd move in 3 years. Hopefully this doesn't hurt attendance.

  5. Buffalo v Colorado set for the NLL Final again this year. best of 3. Interesting dates though.

Saturday 27th, Monday the 29th and, if needed, June 3rd.

Buffalo is 0/2 over the past 2 NLL finals (2019/2022) I kind of hope, despite being a fan of the Rock, this is the one that Buffalo finally gets.

Nope. The Leafs and Raptors (and Argos) may be blue and white, but TFC and the Raptors are both red and white. And considering the CANMNT and TFC both call BMO home, the colours really should have been red and white. But in any case, you're right - where did the green come from?

Guess Vancouver should have been red and white too then?

Also...check the city of Toronto flag for the answer to blue and white 🙂

    But yeah. Green is weird

Looking forward to the East final. Buffalo - Toronto.

    I was let down.

Toronto did not show up at all. Buffalo should be the clear favorite in the final but this isn't the first time in the last 3 years that will be the case.
Funny enough, they're guaranteed to play one of the 2 teams they played (and lost to) in the past 2 years.

  8. Holy :censored: Buffalo.

    The Bandits destroyed Rochester 20-8.

From what I've found, the last time any team had scored 20+ goals in any playoff game was back on May 21, 2016....and guess who it was? Buffalo.

Looking forward to the East final. Buffalo - Toronto.

Reading the last two posts about the Argos, I made these concepts last month. The idea of using more light blue (because it stands out in its own form) and some history behind the uniforms gave me the curiosity to create something.  So basically something led to something. It's not often I plug my own stuff but ...

Hypothetical question, if LAFC wins the CCL, does that make them one of the all-time great MLS teams?

I'd say they are in that conversation, no doubt. Possibly the best.

The Giavanco Toronto FC, but they never won CCL.

As a TFC fan Of course I agree that team is in the conversation but If i'm stepping aside from fandom, I'd say LAFC has topped it.

No one's saying the current Sens are the old Sens, they're not. It's not some crazy or out there notion for them to lean into that legacy though.

To your point. If we're going to play "that game" there's a million examples of logos/uniforms/identities, ect for sports teams drawing on the history of that sport in that city. Why is it an issue for Ottawa?
