  1. Unfortunately I lost most of the pictures because I changed from an iphone to a samsung since but this past nov I had the opportunity to check out TFC's dressing room.

This 1 min video will give you an idea of how small it is. That grey door to the right leads out to an area where the team walks by a bar under the stands and through the tunnel but there's also a laundry area there as well. From what I understand there is another level down that leads to a gym area with all those amenities.

Here's me walking through the tunnel. My best friend and the groundskeeper chatting in front.

May be an image of one or more people

Sports are not games, curling would come under a similar category to outdoor lawn bowls, bocce, pentaque etc. It's more of a gathering of similars who are invested in a game of closest to the pin wins like darts or horse shoe toss.

Nest you'll be telling me stone skipping is a sport.

    https://www.stoneskimming.com/   🤣

For the record i represented my country in Lawn Bowls, still don't think it's a sport.

No. Stone skipping is not even close. You just flick your wrist. Lawn bowling, fun as it is, is just tossing a heavy ball accurately.

Curling requires core strength, the ability to slide with the shoes (as a hockey player too...yes I'm super canadian in that regard...it's harder than skating as one shoe is designed to be stationary ((stop you)) and one is designed to help you slide). You have to push a rock which requires core control as well as leg strength control (too fast can be bad, too slow also can be bad) plus sweeping hard requires arm strength while sliding.

not to mention just turning (aka curling the rock) the rock properly when delivering the stone but not leaning on it too hard...I frequently sweat a lot and "Feel it the next day" after a game.

I get it. People think it's Lawn bowling on ice. It's not. When I started curling I thought it would be a piece of cake....it's not at all. It's also something that you need to experience to really get it but it's a very physical endeavor and is a sport 100%.

You get a bent stick and hit a small pebble like ball along a paddock until you get another bent stick and hit it into a hole

So hockey? Lol. (OK not exactly I'm just having fun with you)

    curling

As a curler myself I challenge you to try the sport and say this. (Not in an angry or mean way. A friendly challenge).

I don't really care about the golf topic enough to get into it (tl;Dr walking and swinging a club seems like exercise to me) but curling is not nearly as easy as people think. I won't go off as no one really cares to hear me get that defensive but it's not just pushing a rock as hard as you can

Also any golf related thing that should not count as SPORT.

    Devil's advocate:

What should it be considered then?

I'm not a particularly big golf fan. I really only like playing with my dad and uncle and my interest in the pro game is mild to none but I still think it's a sport so I'm curious as to where you land on this one.

I've thought for a while this would be a good route to go for a modernized throwback look, but it really doesn't fit with the rest of the current uniform. They should use this jersey as inspiration, either for a new primary set, or an alternate.

That jersey is pretty much exactly what I was thinking of when I made my last post. This would look great!

  6. Among a lot of other things; covid killed this expansion.

The CFL will keep saying they are committed to this project and that's probably the right thing to say but the small amount of government funding that was offered was pulled back essentially making this dead.

Never say never for the future but I think the current incarnation of the league is what we can expect for a long time.

  7. The team is from the 2000s.

They're also from a state that has a rich hockey history. It's OK they try looks inspired by either era. Frankly I think their original jerseys were their best but I don't think they NEED to wear something that screams 2000.

This is like saying the Thrashers couldn't adopt the name Jets when they move to Winnipeg.

Or like the Sounders, Timbers and, Whitecaps in MLS couldn't use those names because they aren't the same franchise as the previous incarnations.

Teams in sports frequently use the history of the sport in their area for names, logos, colours and, uniform inspiration.

If those renovations do take place, the Skydome will be a baseball only facility going forward?

    It kind of is already.

There is a track that the lower bowl bleachers are on to rotate for football but when the Argos left it was locked in. I forget the specifics right now...it was either a small renovation or repair or something they did but the short is the seating configuration as it is today is permanent becasue of that. Once the renovation is done it's 100% not an option to have a second seating configuration.....and they dug out a real dirt path as @DEAD!alluded to so there would be a big infield shaped hole now, lol.

    No, still the fake stuff.

Just to add to this......Apparently there was a whole bunch of research done but the short of it is that real grass isn't an option.

In order to build a proper drainage system and have proper airflow and all sorts of stuff I'd never even have considered to grow grass they'd need to knock the building down and start over.

    Not debatable, sorry!

I don't care enough to get involved with the Canadiens uniform debate (because I think they've got great uniforms and the small details aren't sig ificant enough to me) but dude. You've got to know you can't come on here and say this (quoted) line. It's very much debatable...and kind the point of what we do here.
