TruColor, when are you going to spill the beans on what you know?  Give us the Reddit rumors and the rest of the juicy details you’ve learned.

Grey & Athletic Gold additions…or is that Athletic Gold actually truly Orange?

Shifting from Cardinal Red to a deeper, darker shade, almost Maroon?

    Definite facemask change?

    Don’t hold out on us.

Is this the basis of your questions?

  2. According to our benevolent overlord on the mothership, the Flyers sweaters will look like 80s/90s with a lot of black stripped off and they're keeping the ridiculous contrasting nameplates....

The graphic makes the new unis look like the current unis, with thicker vertical arm stripes, elimination of the white torso stripe, and a darker orange (though the design is just a projection and may not be 100% correct)

I seriously doubt the Cardinals get rid of black. They just debuted the black helmet so they will absolutely keep a black jersey to go with it.

There’s a small chance the black helmet is retired; the Eagles’ black helmets were just for 2022.

One of my small hopes is that ISU adds yellow pants again. The red on white ain’t it when you don’t have any white elements on the red jersey

Red/red/yellow or yellow/red/yellow (as a nostalgia tip to the 80s) would be pretty good looks for the Cyclones.

  5. Watching the Orioles v Red Sox; Orioles’ right- handed pitcher has team patch on left sleeve, Orioles’ right-handed fielders have team patch on right sleeve.

Looks like the ad space is largely designed for batters, with max exposure to be shown on TV by the zoomed-in outfield cameras. Some batters have padding covering up the ad as the ad is on the arm that faces the pitcher.

Nearly every ad patch has been illegible from 90% of the camera angles for all games today, which is fine by me.

Picture posted by MASN on social media could be a potential look at the Orioles city connect set for a May unveiling

”Coming soon to a team store near you” was the caption

That shirt’s already on Fanatics as a “Nike Local Legend” series shirt. Not City Connect.

I much prefer the finish they've used the last few years, and I think chrome is too flashy for most teams to pull off, but if CU goes with the right uniform route, they may work.

The finish they've use the last few years (which I think is a gold satin) is better than chrome, but I wish they went back to glossy metallic paint they had for so many years. The satin gives it more of a tan vibe...likely to better match what CU has in the jersey and pants, but it's just blah.

Why are some of the logos in front of the text and others behind? Is that just an error in the preview image(s) or is it actually going to be inconsistent?

New Era separated elements of the logos and put some elements behind and

some in front. The Raiders logo is fully in front because the team doesn’t allow it to be manipulated at all.

They have an actual contract. It was a three-year, $9 million deal that expires in May. The last time their contract expired in May 2019, they announced the new contract two months later after taking it to market. I anticipate something similar will happen again this year because they've been with Nike for decades.

May 2019-May 2023 would be four years.

So this year are we expecting Arizona (based on the discount of jerseys), Carolina (based off the timeline of the teams sale) and Houston has something in the works based off tweets from earlier.

    hopefully their good 🤞

Carolina’s jerseys are also discounted like Arizona’s

they still let me in the door though. for obvious reasons I can't say a lot, and I know there's a lot of dissenting opinion on this move, but I'm at least excited to see the process through.

Excellent! I’m happy for you and can’t wait to see/hear more!

I mean I applied 3 times for a Fanatics job before they finally got sick of seeing my name pop up. 🤷‍♂️

That was before they had to design on-ice jerseys though!

Maybe Fanatics will pull people from adidas, maybe they’ll look for new talent. All I’m saying is this is probably one of the best opportunities to get a foot in the door.

I'm sure Fanatics threw a ton of money at the NHL, but the league should've gone with a more reputable name in companies like CCM, New Balance (under the Warrior brand), or Nike

I would guess that Fanatics put sales data in front of the league that showed them to reputable.

Fanatics sells a :censored: ton of replica jerseys, especially WC/Stadium/RR versions.

Nike probably didn’t want to get involved with hockey if it couldn’t make (or put its mark on) replica jerseys (and let’s face it, Swingmans are made with ultra cheap materials these days so there’s no guarantee hockey replica jerseys would be any better (unless you love really thin, single-layer-no-stitches-except-fake-stitches heat-pressed twill))

This change seems like a pretty decent opportunity for the  prominent hockey concept guys on here to badger Fanatics for a design job.

I think they’d use the 2022 alt helmet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the new set was close to that. I’m guessing most of the silver is gone.

I was thinking about this earlier and I could not agree any more. It’s like they’re allergic to my money, and it’s been that way for close to 15 years now. Just dreadful garbage they put out. I can’t even remember the last time I bought any new NHL gear. I remember I bought a Flyers Stanley Cup shirt on deep discount from the NHL shop in Manhattan in 2010(!), and I ended up returning it because it was such poor quality. I’m pretty sure that was the last time.

Maybe a Sharks 59Fifty from Hat Club right before they outlawed/banned/whatever you wanna call it selling those anywhere but the team shops in the arenas.

This is a very dumb league.

It is incredibly odd that New Era and Zephyr have arena-exclusive deals only because adidas and Fanatics (and ‘47 to a degree) wanted to control the e-retail space.  Not sure why NHL thought that was a good business case.

With adidas presumably done with NHL hats in ‘24 I wonder if the league allows for another hat maker to take its place (it should).

We need a sticky thread that lists the unveil dates of new uniforms so we can objectively say when it's 'late'.

Thanks to a really slow work day:

    In 2022:

49ers (back to three stripes) unveiled April 25th

    Commanders unveiled February 2nd

    In 2021:

    Bengals unveiled April 19th

In 2020 (April was probably the greatest two weeks of this board's history):

    Rams unveiled May 13th

    Chargers unveiled April 21st

    Patriots unveiled April 20th

    Browns unveiled April 15th

    Colts unveiled April 13th

    Falcons unveiled April 8th

    Buccaneers unveiled April 7th

    Jets unveiled April 4th

    In 2018:

    Dolphins unveiled April 19th

    Jaguars unveiled April 19th

    Titans unveiled April 4th

    In 2017:

    Lions unveiled April 13th
