The Suns will have new main uniforms for next season (purple & white), and a new city edition uniform replacing the current turquoise uniform. The classic purple sunburst is to be worn for only this season and is not scheduled to be back. The alternate black PHX uniform will return for next season.

This is still the expectation for the Sun, correct?

I'm going with the same gut feeling that I've had the last 15 years - that the Mavs will get new unis. So they're probably not one of the teams.

Either way, if California can have 3 teams, so could Texas or Florida.

With NFL teams in Miami and Tampa, I think Jacksonville will get an NFL team before Orlando. #postsfrom1991

The only issue I have with these types of concepts—and I see them all the time—is that by incorporating so much Arizona flag into the uniform, it may as well become a uniform for Arizona State or a team called the Arizonans. Now, if (when?) Nike tries to impose a "City" uniform on the NFL—and I wouldn't be the slightest bit shocked if they're working on roping the NFL into that in their back lab right now—then such flag-inspired design could really take off. As is, it doesn't say "Cardinals" as much as it says "Arizona". (And yes I see the birdhead logo on the helmet; but that's it.)

Having said that...dude that did those may very well be onto something with that triple/gradient stripe designe he used for the pants. Oh, and he used the blue I've been wanting the Cardinals to reemploy for the longest time.

The Cowboys uniform has nothing that says “Cowboys”. The star is for Texas. With the Arizona flag on the unis in late 80s/00s, a new design with the flag is not totally off base.

The Football Team Stockholm Syndrome is weird.

The only that was awful about the WFT identity (other than the generic name) was the stripeless helmet with the numbers.

Are my eyes messing with me, or are that guy's socks, undersleeves, and cap a dark navy?? I remember the original DRays' uniforms having black caps & socks...

What’s more odd is the numbers on the back are still purple, which really clashes with the navy hats.

The gradient still looks cool though and perfect for Tampa.

Has it been mentioned that the Panther is facing backwards here? It's not like that on the current jersey.

That’s the left sleeve you’re looking at, from behind.

Have we had any leaks yet on the new cards unis?

If you’re asking because you haven’t seen anything, then I think you already know the answer.

Leaks usually lead to five pages of posts.

I’m curious to see if an NFL team could/would make a lateral switch to Jordan Brand uniforms at any point in the near future.

That would require league-wide approval. And if it could be done, the first team to get it would probably be the Cowboys.

I wonder if Carolina has worn the light blue jerseys so infrequently at home for this mismatched color reason, The past several years it has mostly been reserved for road games when the home team wears white.

Highly doubt it. The difference is really minute.

I knew that.  I really did know that.  I swear.

This is what my brain was trying to ask:

What's weird is this graphic, taken from the Carolina Panthers website, makes it look like the actual color in the logo is a different shade altogether and the non-matching background is process blue:

    Panthers Home | Carolina Panthers - Panthers.com

If the color in the team logo is actually process blue, the "outline" should seamlessly disappear, but it doesn't on the team's webpage. In the new Riot Report graphic, it does just that.

Unfortunately, we can expect to see the following looks even less frequently with the addition of all these new throwbacks and alternates:

I don’t think we can definitively say these two looks will be reduced.

  12. Broncos’ website says the alt helmets (which seem to be white) will be worn with the color rush unis (remember NFL rules, for now, don’t let teams wear alternate helmets with main sets). So it’ll be weird if they wear white helmets with all orange (or all navy) uniforms.

    Denver doing something.

This sucks ass. Was really hoping for throwback unis. Jumping on the icy white trend is just picking low hanging fruit.

I’m guessing they wanted to get one more year out of the color rush set (which is quasi-throwback) before the change in 2024 (presumably).

White helmet, blue jersey w/red striping, white pants w/red and blue striping wouldn't have looked so bad.

    Fair point.

Though in 2002-04 (when the alts were showing up in 2k) the Cardinals only had white pants with red stripes and vice versa…so it would have been a white helmet with no blue and pants with no blue.

I think the 98-99 Puma set might have had more blue accents.

Other than the ads, the Marlins uniforms are just unbelievably awesome.  Make them a full time alt like the Rays did with the Devil Rays set.

We need to get a grab of Jorge Soler's jersey...the fish patch is all kind of jacked up (and it may be the case on all of them). The team patch on the sleeves is nearly upside down.

Did he say Cardinals but mean Virginia Tech?

I doubt that's real, but those are horrible. Why are the numbers so small?

That's just a horrible photoshop, even as admitted by the reddit guy who drew it up.

For the record, I'm still hoping that this is all a smokescreen, and the real uniforms will be a modern/traditional hybrid of some kind.

If it's a smokescreen...what version of the helmet did you see? Was it a graphic, a photo of the real physical helmet, a retail image from Riddell, or something from a logo slick?

Quick thought...after seeing photo of the stadium with all the red seats, I was reminded that the team has cultivated a "Red Sea" mantra for years now...it'd be weird if they said "Haha changeup!! Going maroon now"

  18. 51 minutes ago, TruColor said:

    They're not red-flaked.

Red being the key word here lol

    What we know so far:

    Logo is not changing.

    White helmets are coming back

Facemask is not gray (though with this rumored color palette, gray might not look that bad)

Maroon, orange and gray could very well be the new colors

Metallic flake will be used (we just don't know what color)

The number font might be the current font, just poorly illustrated in the tweet.  Assuming a maroon cardinal head on a white helmet, possibly with an orange facemask.

That’s a good point about the draft cap; would they hold off on unveiling new unis until AFTER the draft?

Rumor I read had a 4/17 date for an unveiling.

Most likely they’ll have new draft hats for sale (IMO)
