  1. Officially official Real Salt Lake "Peak Utah" primary kit:

And CF Montréal's "La Main" secondary kit -- the stripe symbolizes Boulevard St-Laurent, “Montréal’s central artery where east and west ends meet, a street that runs at the heart of the city, which has historically reunited its diverse communities":

I like red sleeves as a change of pace for the Revolution, though it seems that AND the dotted pinstripes are too many design elements. One or the other would've been nice on their totally plain previous home kit. Also, what does any of this have to do with the Boston Tea Party?

Agreed on the sleeves. Revs were sort of falling into a pit of drabness with navy blue-heavy kits; the sleeves are an injection of color and a nice change of pace.

But your guess is as good as mine on the Tea Party connection. Checked their website to see if there was an explainer, but only a video of players wearing the new kits in front of exploding ships. 🤷‍♂️

Is the green jersey supposed to show the Northern Lights?

Indeed it is. And they have the Pegasus constellation on the back, since they play home games at Spruce Meadows, better known as an equestrian facility.

    From the club website:

    Quote

Inspired by the Alberta Night Sky and Canada’s northernmost Canadian Premier League team. Drawing inspiration from the Aurora Borealis and incorporating elements inspired by the Pegasus Constellation—a nod to our home field at Spruce Meadows—this jersey proudly features Alberta’s celestial wonders. Show your team spirit and Alberta’s natural wonders. It’s more than sportswear; it’s a connection to the unique celestial offerings of Canada’s northern landscape.

And for the red home kit:

    Quote

Kick off your style game with our kit inspired by the dynamic tech industry in Alberta. Calgary has emerged as a major tech hub, covering software development, artificial intelligence, biotech, and clean technology. Our red kit embodies the dynamic spirit of innovation and seamlessly fuses the beautiful game with subtle references to the traditional Cavalry sash.

Thanks @officeglenn, I couldn’t get it to embed the pic.

Yeah, no worries. Make sure you right-click on the image and select "Copy image address", then paste that in the reply box. Don't use the "Copy image link" button in Imgur; that only copies a link to the gallery, not the image file itself.

Wait, that's an actual jersey?! No way, this cannot be real. Who in god's name did approve this, and why? So many different questions for the textbook example of a practice jersey.

It's an ECHL team and they're going to wear them for one night, mainly because their mascot is a polar bear.  https://news.sportslogos.net/2024/01/26/echls-orlando-solar-bears-go-all-out-for-white-out-night/hockey-2/

It's minor league hockey; you can't take it so seriously.

  6. More MLB news from Uni Watch today: MLB’s Last Vest Jersey Is Officially Dead

    Quote

In May of 2022, several reports indicated that the Rockies’ black alternate vest was being retired “for the foreseeable future,” ostensibly to “make room” for the team’s then-upcoming City Connect uniform.

The “make room” explanation never really made sense, because the Rockies could’ve kept the black vest and still remained within the “four plus one” limit (home pinstripes, road greys, purple alternates, black vest, and CC). But whatever the real reason was, the black vests went unworn in 2022, and again in 2023.

Despite that, the black vests were shown in the MLB Style Guide in 2022 and ’23, leaving open the possibility that they could still be worn. A source tells me, however, that they are not shown in the 2024 edition of the Guide, so I think we can now officially write this jersey’s epitaph.
