  1. Why don't we call it the NAFL (North American Football League)?

BTW, I think the Pittsburgh Maulers should rebrand to the "Canton Maulers" or the "Ohio Maulers", since they play/would be playing all of their home games in Canton, OH anyway. Or even better, they could revive the old "Canton Bulldogs" name.

Also, I hope the newly merged league keeps the New Jersey Generals, who would be playing at either Rutgers' SHI Stadium or Red Bull Arena, since MetLife Stadium would be way too oversized for them.

  2. Great work with this project so far.

BTW, I'm curious to see which musician the Marlins will crossover with. Could it be Ariana Grande? Pitbull? Camila Cabello? Flo Rida? Jason Derulo? Enrique Iglesias? New Found Glory? KC and the Sunshine Band? Or maybe even Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine?

Anyway, can't wait to see what you got for the Mets and Yankees respective music crossovers. I'm predicting Billy Joel for the Amazins and Jay-Z for the Pinstripes.

If the Philadelphia 76ers have been using this (an updated version of their 1963-77 logo) as their primary logo, then how come it wasn't included in the team's initial reveal of their current "brand identity" in 2015?

  4. I hope we'll be seeing these teams in this series:

    • Milwaukee
    • Canton
    • Dayton
    • Memphis
    • Raleigh-Durham or Greensboro
    • Baton Rouge
    • Tampa Bay #2 (St. Petersburg)
    • Miami #2 or Nassau, Bahamas
    • Orlando
    • West Virginia
    • Atlanta #2
    • Syracuse/Rochester or Niagara Falls
    • Indianapolis #2 or Fort Wayne
    • Colorado Springs
    • Kansas City #2 or St. Louis
    • Las Vegas #2
    • Detroit #2 or Grand Rapids or Lansing
    • Saint Paul, MN
    • Phoenix #2 or Tucson
    • Oakland or Sacramento
    • Tacoma

    Saskatoon Blues

1983 saw the Blues very close to moving to Saskatoon; They even had a mockup of what their uniform would look like; which I also replicated. However, Blues doesn't scream Saskatoon so I also came up with a new moniker for the team. Inspired by a team a little south the Blues rebrand to the Saskatoon Moose.

What if the Washington Capitals relocated to Seattle?

The other option for the Caps when they were not doing well in the 80's was to move from Washington DC to Washington State. They use the move as an opportunity to revive the Seattle Metropolitans

Why are "Moose" and "Metropolitans" spelled upside down in the respective roundel logos for Saskatoon and Seattle?

    And????

Really, not trying to be difficult, but if someone has something to add to a topic, even if it's just a thank you or praise, what's the problem? The answer you gave really doesn't address that.

*Sigh* You're right. It wasn't my best judgment.

I was thinking that everyone had forgotten about this thread. Then again, I was wrong.

Turns out this thread is just as important a contribution to this community today as it was then, even if it's been years since it was last updated.

    Hey all,

A chance for you to influence some choices I will be making.  We are adding 3 new teams through expansion (as well as the return of the Atlanta Fire) and I would love your thoughts on what to do with these possible cities.  So, give me your thoughts, and remember, I am trying to use real world logos/identities as much as possible, but I am fine with relocating teams (NY/NJ Knights to STL or Orlando Thunder to Portland are two examples).

So, what names/logos do you think make sense for these potential USFL cities?:

    St. Louis

    Portland

    Dallas

    Miami

    Charlotte or Raleigh, NC

    Virginia Beach/Norfolk

    Minneapolis/St. Paul

    Kansas City

Feel free to borrow from other pro football leagues or even  other sports as sources of identity for a new USFL club.

    • St. Louis: River Kings (city is located near the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers and is named for King Louis IX of France; logo based on AAF's Atlanta Legends)
    • Portland: Seals (based on The Spring League's Sea Lions)
    • Dallas: Chaparrals (named after former ABA team of the same name, who are now in the NBA as the San Antonio Spurs)
    • Miami: Manatees (based on aborted CFL-USA team of the same name) or Sharks/Makos (logo would be based on the FXFL's Blacktips)
    • Charlotte or Raleigh, NC: Aviators/Flyers (named for the Wright Brothers and the world's first controlled, sustained flights of a powered, heavier-than-air aircraft in North Carolina's Outer Banks in 1903; logo would be based on The Spring League's Aviators) or Cobras (named after ArenaFL and NAL version of the team of the same name; logo would be based on ArenaFL's Cobras, but with the colors of the NAL's Cobras)
    • Virginia Beach/Norfolk: Destroyers (based on UFL team of the same name)
    • Minneapolis/St. Paul: Red Hawks/Redhawks/RedHawks (named for the red-tailed hawk, which is commonly found in Minnesota)
    • Kansas City: Beat/Soul/Jazz/Blues (named for the Kansas City Jazz and Jump Blues styles of music that is well recognized in the area; logo based on ArenaFL's Philadelphia Soul)

One more for you before the Chicago reveal.  Here are the new look New Jersey Generals.   Some keys:

    1. Return of the laurel leaf logo, but still with blue outlining (see USFL 2022 for inspiration).

    2. Drop shadow numbers. with gold and blue outlines.

    3. New secondary logo (too good to resist) now a patch on the chest.

    4. Side panels morph into pant stripe with an "epaulette" concept (Tried it on shoulders, did not like it.)

    5. New wordmark with state of NJ included for emphasis.

@WideRightThe numbers on the home jersey don't match in the bottom pic. But nonetheless, this Generals redesign is just fantastic, especially with the addition of the alternate logo.
