Two things.. Was at this game, I've never heard so many gasps. Also, Kevin Harlan is the absolute best in the business. Jim Nantz can't retire soon enough.

Co-signed. Imagine wanting to see Duke, Kansas, UNC and UCLA in every Final Four.

UCLA? Michigan State? Unlike NBA and MLB, when it comes to March Madness, people want to tune in for the cinderallas and underdogs. Pretty sure a lot of people (myself included) will actually go out of their way to watch a team like Butler, Loyola-Chicago, St. Peters as opposed to your typical Duke or Kansas game -- unless they're getting upset.

It used to be that way. I went to a couple tourney games at The Pit in Albuquerque in 2002 and 2012 and you had no idea what was going on with other games until you got home or checked ESPN.com (if you even got reception in the arena) Attended Denver's sessions on Friday -- the arena was real-time simulcasting games on the jumbotron between every timeout and even in-game. The big screen played the entirety of FDU finishing off Purdue on while the second half of Gonzaga/GCU game was going on. They weren't letting fans miss history. Few and Drew might've been annoyed with it, but us fans were pretty impressed they did that.

Off to witness Creighton vs Baylor and TCU vs Gonzaga. All four teams are LEGIT. I expect these games and this atmosphere to be tonight!

I really wanted to be done with this topic.. The WBC has now taken out two MLB mega stars.

Duke out. Kansas out. Huge basketball hangover today. Spent an entire day at the arena for yesterday's Denver sessions. Some takeaways: The Creighton fan base is infectious. Nobodyyy likes Gonzaga. The GCU student section is on drugs (the fun kind!). Was not good night for anyone wearing a Purdue gear in public. ASU and TCU both deserved to advance, that game was like a heavyweight fight. Even if your team isn't in it, attending the first round of the NCAAs if a bucket list thing for any Tournament fan. Highly recommend!

And still 0 posts about the actual WBC games that are going on. It'll be over soon anyways. Enjoy this being the last time you see star MLBers in it.

It goes beyond the "College" moniker. Generic screenprint numbers. Miniature script. Striping is all over the place. BFBS. The entire uniform is lazy. Straight trash.

If the WBC were as as important as some of you are making it out to be, it would have it's own thread on here. And in fact, nobody mentioned the WBC on here before last night's injury. One post about the WBC was made, and it about the drunk bros behind home plate in ringing up batters. Nothing was said about the actual games going on at all, which tells you how much of an afterthought the tournament is. So please, let's not pretend it's this grand event on the same level as the World Cup.

I can guarantee you winning the World Cup means more to players than winning a pro league championship. Can't say that about baseball. And playing for country? A lot of these WBC teams are comprised of players who have probably never stepped foot in the country they're playing for. Please.

Again. Owners who don't want their star players injured in a meaningless exhibition will have final say.

But it's not going to be up to the players. If owners tell them they can't play next time send, they won't. Look for the next WBC to look similar to Olympic hockey, where it's composed of amateur and retired players.

Nice sleuthing. Still tho, that kinda horseplay on the team's watch. Far less outrage when the team holds some level of responsibility for a player's injury. To add, I seriously don't envision the Mets would pull players from team practice like can pull players from the WBC.

Give me one scenario where players are going to celebrate like that during Spring training. I'll wait.
