  1. The endzones will sport the new font and an arched TCU will be at midfield. The logo there in this pic can no longer be used. Even the baseball team has just an arched TCU in the outfield. The font is in the indoor practice facility as well: New logo is currently "on hold." Even saw a glimpse of it at Lupton yesterday. Wow, I was at that game too. I had to leave before the middle of the sixth, right before the Horned Frogs had that big comeback. Never turn up an opportunity for free baseball.
  2. The problem that I have is that you don't have a name for the team. It's hard to make a concept for a team that doesn't have a nickname (unless you're going the soccer route, but still...). Think of a name and then base your concept around that, and you'll have something a lot stronger. Right now, it's as if the Rangers and Jets made sweet love and created this concept.
  3. The lower case really helps the set.
  4. And, you are correct on that point. However, the reason they could have justified substituting similar retro home uni for the new home alt is that 1) the new home alt is an exact reproduction of the 1966 home alt with the authentic team script (in which The Show's version of the uniform has always used a generic script) and 2) the throwback game scenario would be intact due to the Braves wearing an alt that is based on a throwback. I can see that argument; I'm just explaining why the developers do it that way. From the few conversations that I've had with the SCEA team online, they have real hell with some of the teams and the way they present themselves. If they dropped the black stitching on the white panel, it would be a big improvement. Still, I don't get the move back to trucker's hats.
  5. The reason why they go with the particular slots (and yes, the are slotted as one home and one road alternate, and two road and two home alternates for every team) is because of the career modes. In Road to the Show and Franchise mode, the slots line up in order to make it so that when teams wear throwbacks, both teams wear throwbacks. That is why you see the New York Yankees and other, more traditional teams with two alternates. It's how they program the game to work.
  6. By the way, have we seen the Postseason logos? If MLB the Show is to be trusted (then again, SCEA is full of lazy developers )
  7. The Show only has two slots for alternates, and the Brewers have more alternates than the Rangers do. Obviously that means that some of them won't make it into the game. Developers have also hinted that they have to get special approval for historical uniforms too, although I'm not sure if I buy that. I'm also really pissed that the new Braves home alt uniform didn't make it into the game (according to the YouTube video of the game in Best Buy). I thought that if a uniform was in the official style guide that it would be in the game. Again, if the team has more uniforms than slots allow, they can't put it in the game. Then free up a slot by getting rid of a throwback and insert the current uniform... It's a matter of laziness. Plus they should have replaced the Braves' throwbacks with Hank Aaron unis instead of the older versions. They make every team equal in the game slots. It's not a matter of laziness, it's a matter of what MLB Properties tells them to do.
  8. The only thing I would change would be to switch back to orange for the alternate. Otherwise I think this is a wonderful concept that should be implemented.

  11. I like the sleeves, but if they're going to have a sash it needs to be visible. I like the collars and just as I typed that, Dempsey scores! Overall, I like the kit, but I agree that it's missing something small.
  12. The logo is okay, but it just doesn't look like a horned toad at all. Every horned toad (or frog) I've ran across looks something like this... The new logo makes it look like they can sprawl out, and all the ones that I've seen don't flex their bodies in that way.
  13. I wonder if this has to do more with Colt Manufacturing than with PC (which I agree is a worthless movement). If I remember right, that's what caused the whole mess in the 60's. Take a look at the logos... That smoke is worth a number of lawsuits.
  14. Baseball: Texas Rangers(AL), UT-Arlington Mavericks(WAC) Hockey: Texas Brahmas(CHL) Motorsport: Anybody other than Chevy(IndyCar) Other than that, I might watch the Mavericks or Cowboys when they play. The Rangers are my main team (have been since I was born), and I go to many UT-Arlington baseball games and Brahmas hockey games. I also follow horse racing when they race in Grand Prairie.
  15. The only thing I don't like about your Rugby kit is that the stripes on the primary don't go around the body. Otherwise, that's a clean set; I'm really liking this series.
  16. I was going to say that this would work better in the AHL, but this concept really separates itself from the other Toronto team. It has a real California Seals vibe to it.
  17. I really like what you did with the whole set, especially with the merchandise. I'm not one to buy other team's items, but I would go for one of those Maple Leafs alumni shirts.

    LA stars

Why should we take the time for C&C when you didn't take the time to make anything decent? You took a modified Dodgers cap logo and put a Texas Stars star in the middle of the "A" on the front a generic shield. Take this logo, scrap it, and hit the restart button. A good logo takes a good week to do, especially for a beginner.
  19. OK... First, you really need to work on the logo. Right now, it's in rough sketch territory. It needs to be refined before being shown. Your second logo is the State of Oregon; no real effort there. Take some time on it, and it will pay dividends. Second, you missed a very basic thing in not adding grey to your road pant. This screams out "rush job." Remember to take time to look over it. I'm not the best designer here and I know it, so when I release anything, I take at least a week to look it over. Make sure the basics are down before you release anything. Next, use another font besides Copperplate; it's WAYYYYYYY too overused. After that, take down the size of the numbers on the back. I've never seen a jersey where the number is as big as the entire back of the jersey. The "Traders" wordmark is too big for your jersey. Finally, "Portland" should be on the road jersey and "Traders" should be on the home. Your home team knows that they play in Portland, it's the road fans that want to know where you're from. Even with all of that said, you still have a lot of work to go. I suggest taking your concept down and work on just the logo for a week. Actually sketch it out and use reference photos of what a beaver actually looks like. TAKE YOUR TIME; nobody can make a concept in just a day.
  20. I've always heard them refereed to as horned toads And yes, that's a horned toad in a casket.
  21. With mine, I built the rows where the seats would sit (so like extended stairs), but could you imagine actually placing tens of thouands of seats? Torture! Actually, that's what I meant. I've built a stadium before with rows, and the file grew so big that I couldn't run sketch-up on my computer. It just doesn't work with my old system. If we're going to go through with this, I wouldn't mind doing it. I'd prefer doing a baseball stadium, but I'm up for whatever challenge my be ahead.
  22. I don't get all of the white space. The designer may have been going for an American theme, but all I see is an incomplete logo.
  23. I think this is a great idea, but it's going to take a lot more time than a normal concept competition would on here. I created a new stadium for my Continental League team, and to get it right with three levels, an outfield section, two outfield buildings, a roofette, and a facade took about a month of work. Even then, I saved time by not creating individual seating.
  24. Too bad the Rangers only play one series next year in Chicago, and it's during the weekdays. Otherwise, the Rangers could wear that old '76 powder blue beauty.
  25. I like what you are doing to the whole thing, tweaking the logo and going all out on the uniforms. First of all, I like the new TCU logo and the Horned Frog. However, the two red streaks have to go. I know that horned frogs use blood for defense, but it just doesn't go with purple and black. I'd drop it, especially since your uniforms don't include it. As for the field, I would replace the red streaks with the "TCU" wordmark over the state. Put that version on the third field and you have a winner. With that new stadium and these improvements, it's possible that Texas Christian could become a powerhouse in Tarrant and surrounding counties (with the Big XII move of course )
