  1. The move back to the WAC helps UT-Arlington a lot because the conference be as spread out... Yes, there is still a trip to Seattle as a possible road game. But, most of the conference now resides in Texas. This makes it far more feasible for them in the long run. As for the Horizon League: I doubt they would take a flyer on Chicago State... but, you know - desperate times and desperate measures.
  2. Am I the only one here half expecting something from Cowboy Bebop with this name?
  3. I get a feeling that crew of refs is going to get the 'Boger' treatment after that little incident...
  4. Probably not. What he did at Washington State and how that went might make him persona non grata to many AD's.
  5. That would be right. If the Chiefs win (and they'll more then likely win.. I mean, come on. Does anyone outside of Pittsburgh think the Steelers stand a snowball's chance in hell?), the Titans host the Bengals and the Bills go to Kansas City. If Pittsburgh somehow pulls it off, then they go to Tennessee and the Bills host the Bengals.
  6. Stony Brook is already a football member of the CAA, so this move works for them. Monmouth would huge for the CAA as they escape the Big South for a football home that is more or less better situated for where they are. The big loser here is the Big South, though. In the span of a season, they could easily go from having 9 members (5 conference members and 4 affiliate members) to just 5 members (4 conference members and Robert Morris)
  7. Is there really anywhere in NYC proper that the team can build a soccer specific stadium?
  8. Now it's going to be a race to see who becomes the 12th MVC school and it's between UT-Arlington, Kansas City and UIC. UT-Arlington, being in a large metro area, does have that going for them... but it is very far away from the rest of the conference. Still, being in the Dallas metro area is a big selling point. Both Kansas City and UIC are better fits geographically, but neither school really moves the needle when it comes to sports. As for the Ohio Valley - they're in trouble. They need football bodies stat. Western Illinois fits that and so does another team mentioned in this article: UAPB. Also mentioned are D-II schools like Southern Indiana, Lincoln Memorial, Hillsdale and Grand Valley State (The first two do not football programs while Hillsdale and GVSU have football programs).
  9. You know what else will be nice? Seeing the Lambs flame out in the Wild Card or Divisional Round while OBJ throws a hissy fit.
  10. I hate to say it... but I agree. They stink and it's time for an overhaul.
  11. Speaking of no calls... WT absolute F was that pass interference NOT called? I knew the NFL would screw Seattle over. Moving this game to Tuesday to give the Lambs more time for their players to get back from the COVID-19 list was part of it. But that no call... Icing on this miserable ass cake.
  12. As a Seahawk fan, I'm pissed. This game is extremely important if Seattle has any hope of making the playoffs and now, they're stuck with an extremely short week with a Tuesday game against the Lambs and then a home game with Chicago next week. I understand player safety and all, but this feels like it runs counter to that.
  13. At least with the UK, the Bears have a valid reason - they were part of the first NFL game in London back in 1986. Spain... that's questionable, but maybe the hope is that the Bears UK fan base can translate to something there.
  14. Seattle would probably be preferable for a few reasons... -Closer to the rest of the conference -Better regional fit -History with the WCC (Former member from 1971-1980) -Private school with religious backing
  15. It's a great move for the OVC... But I don't know if it's a great fit for Little Rock. The OVC needed someone... Hell, anyone, to join that was already a fully fledged D-I school. Little Rock fits that. I just don't know how Little Rock helps the OVC itself unless the conference was happy to get a school that was, for all intents and purposes, pushed out by the Sun Belt and its moves being more catered to football.
  16. BOO! I wanted Seal Slingers so that people can actually learn that orcas actually fling seals high in the air just for kicks.
  17. I know the OVC needs bodies fast after Austin Peay bolted for the ASUN, but GVSU is a little bit far away from the rest of the conference. The nearest school is Eastern Illinois and that's not a short trip. Not to mention that the GLIAC, their home conference, would be in deep if they left as they're already down to 10 schools (6 for football) thanks to Northwood joining the G-MAC next season (as has a large chunk of former GLIAC members). I still think Lindenwood would be an ideal candidate if they want a D2 school, but Chicago State could make an interesting case for OVC membership...
  18. Maybe... I'm just afraid that once he leaves, the Seahawks will fall back into the old ways - 10-15 years of being 'meh'.
  19. WTF is with that turkey?!? It looks like something out a bad show. Speaking of bad movies, the family went to my aunt's place (She lives on the next street over) and before turning on the Lions game, she had on Troll 2. From what little I saw, it's not that bad... Probably need to see the whole thing first. Back to topic at hand - good lord, there were a ton of flags in the Raiders-Cowboys game. I think the refs took umbrage on the idea of keeping the flags in their pocket and were like Oprah: You get a flag, you get a flag, you get a flag.. EVERYONE GETS A FLAG!!
  20. Concordia of Portland did shut its doors, though. Kind of a big deal out here. Anyway - The three GNAC schools needed a home since it was already rough enough for them to keep it afloat. The Lone Star was possibly in danger of being poached by the Southland, so it's a marriage of necessity.
  21. That might be a hard sell since a large chunk of the Big East is private Catholic schools and the only public school in there is UConn, a legacy member from before the split. There might also be the fact that the Big East may not want to add another member from the A-10 unless it's one of the private Catholic schools.
  22. If there are any other Seahawk fans here, I am going to say this now: There shall be no mention of what happened yesterday in Green Bay. Understood?
  23. I wouldn't be shocked if the Southland takes all the football playing schools from the Lone Star Conference. For note, the Lone Star is at 18 schools right now (17 with Commerce making the jump next year). Taking the football schools would allow the conference to focus more on the non-football schools (10 of them) and be more versed in that department. The only schools I might think could be an issue here are the New Mexico schools - Eastern and Western New Mexico.
  24. I say seven because while Liberty and New Mexico State are FBS teams, Sam Houston and Jacksonville State aren't. They'll more then likely start the process of becoming an FBS member next season with the 2023 campaign being the second year. This means that C-USA would have seven full time FBS schools in the conference. When 2024 comes around, then they'll have nine teams because those two teams will now be fully fledged FBS schools.
