  1. I was afraid of seeing them have a letdown and boy... whoof. I hate being right.
  2. I'm pretty sure whatever the allegations are cannot be worst then losing to Eastern Michigan on your home field.
  3. Considering the way the Niners played in that monsoon yesterday, they don't exactly inspire the fear of God in me.
  4. Okay, probably not him... but, you gotta think that the special teams coach is probably going to be dead meat after last night's fiasco of a game. Two muffed punts, an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on a kickoff, and two blocked kicks. Yeah, that special teams coach is gone.
  5. I'm sure that Kelly might be dead man walking after that fiasco...
  6. I still HATE the asymmetric helmet design and wished it died off. I saw at least four teams (Austin Peay, Idaho State, Stephen F. Austin and New Mexico State) doing that and it annoys me to no end. Either have logos or numbers, not both!
  7. I know a lot of people aren't into following high school football now, but some people here (like myself) do. So, that's why this thread is being made with football season approaching in many states. As for my neck of the woods, things aren't changing much in Washington or Iowa... but Oregon has gone through a massive restructuring of their football system. -6A, their highest level, will still have 32 schools in the playoffs. But, instead of one big 32 team field, it'll now be two 16 team fields. The main reason is that the lower seeded teams weren't able to compete against some of the bigger boys out there and there hasn't been a lot of parity at this level. So, to try and remedy this problem, the OSAA has created two 16 team brackets: the 6 conference champions and the 10 highest ranked teams will compete for the state championship while the remaining 16 teams will compete for the Columbia Cup. -For the first time since the early 2000's, Rainier and Clatskanie are in different classes. Rainier is still a 3A school and will be in Special District 1 with Banks, Corbett, North Marion (a 4A school), Valley Catholic, Warrenton and Yamhill-Carlton. Four of the schools are also with Rainier in the Coastal Range League for other sports. -Clatskanie is now a 2A school and with that, it means a different style of football in introduced here: nine man football. 2A schools play this variation thanks in large part to the spring season in 2021, where many schools at this level couldn't play eleven man football thanks to COVID-19 and other issues. So, these schools have nine man football. In their district, Special District 1, are Gaston, Knappa, Nestucca, Sheridan (a 3A school), and Vernonia (Another school, Neah-Kah-Nie, is also in this district, but is not playing a full eight game schedule and they're also a 3A school). Similar to Rainier, there's four fellow conference mates in this district. -When you get down to 1A, there's two different styles of football being played here: Eight man and Six man. The first level is eight man football and it's for the bigger (in terms of the class, mind you) schools while the really small schools play six man football, which will have their first ever state championship this season.
  8. Considering that most, if not all, of the fans of the Texas teams fall under the 'have two shots' category, it makes sense to move these games from their home field to one where they can play. The games will be at Blaine High School, which is about 28 miles (or 45 kilometers) from the school.
  9. The Chargers called, they want their helmets back and might be suing the school for the recolor treatment.
  10. North Alabama is doing a refresh on their look after getting the OK for full Division I membership.
  11. The only way THAT part is acceptable is if all of Cleveland's massage therapists are big, sweaty, fat, ugly men.
  12. A little light? Try very light. It feels like a massive slap on the wrist more then anything.
  13. Time for the all-in push to end the nightmare...
  14. What will help for San Jose is a new arena - Tech CU Arena (Technology Credit Union Arena) opens its doors in August. This is basically an expansion of the parent franchise's training facility to include a new home for the Barracuda.
  15. The best part? After next weekend, Seattle doesn't see the Ass-tros for the rest of the season.
  16. From what I've been looking at, West Texas A&M is very happy to be in Division 2.
  17. Again, enough with the Skankee ass kissing (this means you @TrueYankee26). Let's talk about the Mariners and their 14 game winning streak - the longest winning streak heading into the All Star Break ever. And right after the break comes the fun part -13 of the first 20 are against the Trash Cans and the Skankees. After that? Atlanta and San Diego are the toughest teams left and they come to Seattle in mid-September.
  18. Enough of the Skankee ass kissing, let's talk about the Mariners and their 11 game winning streak!
  19. That was my idea... and outside of the whole fiasco that was the Wheels, the attendance numbers aren't that bad - save for their final home game against Southern California, which had 6351 people there (there is a lower number though - the game with Portland was in London, Ontario and that was barely over 5100 people there). Outside of that game? 2 home games with 10,000 people and 2 home games with 14,000 people. That should be within the ballpark of what the current USFL needs to be looking for.
  20. I personally think that Lamar is more then happy to be back in the Southland where they can compete. They were absolute gutter trash in the WAC in terms of football and men's basketball. They were a little more competitive in women's basketball and baseball. Not to mention that it gives the Southland ten teams now. As for the WAC - well, I have a feeling that football might be on the chopping block come 2024.
  21. Acrisure sounds like something you would do for a Create-A-Team in Madden. I personally would have went with Primanti Bros. or PNC Stadium or something like that. Keep it with a Pittsburgh company... although if I had my way, it would become Ligma Field.
  22. It actually feels good to be a Mariner fan right now... the team is red hot, they're in playoff position AND the next six games (2 vs. Washington and 4 vs. Texas) look winnable. There's a chance they may have a 14 game winning streak going into the break, and that would be something.
  23. Not bad for Washington... I caught the Space Needle and the whale, but the map of the state eludes me.
  24. I didn't think of Kalamazoo or Mt. Pleasant for locations... not bad. But, the team probably wants to stick close to the Detroit area (despite being the Michigan Panthers).
