Yeah I just can’t get used to the blue. Thought the numbers would help but not much for now. We’ll see as more/better pictures come out.

I realized last night that when I was thinking this concept through I had envisioned the numbers on the home being red with wheat drop shadow. Somehow forgot that when I made it, so here it is with that option for comparison. UPDATE: Made the numbers on the road red as well to carry over from the actual Wild road, and brings more color diversity to that, and matches red pants better if that's the way it goes.

Really strange that this thread is so old. Feels like not that long, but then again time has no meaning anymore. im back with another swap. Easy to tell what it is. I swear the recent Winter Classic jersey had nothing to do with this. Just got into a Wild creative phase, and their colors work so much with so many designs. I started with the white jersey and went from there. Tried a couple recolors keeping the same color ways but cleaned it up a bit to keep the red and green from touching. Numbers are the Wild’s font just Ranger-ized. Also included bonus pants! My first inclination is the green ones, but they could probably pull off the red.

I saw someone on Instagram trying to predict the Wild jersey by placing the teasers on a blank template where they think it's a snapshot of, and while i don't think it's accurate with the first teaser (then again, who knows) it did get an idea in my head that i think still might fit into some of the details from Russo. I’m pretty sure the moon did change from yellow to gold at some point, I can’t remember if it was with the Edge or Adidas switch overs but I remember it happening.

The Leafs look like Hanukkah. ok the Leafs logo as a menorah would be pretty cool...

I think the other main issue is the striping on the road. Silver alone doesn’t work. Add the blue stripe again or I feel like changing it to blue would be better. I know we don’t want blue/burgundy touching but it would be better than the silver by itself. do we know if the Avs are making any other changes? Are they going to change the numbers on the home at all?

I wanted to ask this question of the board regarding the Avs numbers. With the updated look they've been called cleaner, but also seen some complain about the blue touching the burgundy on the sleeves. I had a couple thoughts but wasn't sure if this is a backwards move. Here is the new font, with double stroke like the old (still with black for this discussion). Also, here is the new font with points added back to the 0, 6, 8, and 9 to be similar to the original font. Would any of this have helped move away from a 90's look? Lateral or no difference? Just toying with ideas. I guess part of my question is what part of the original numbers makes them dated? The design or the double stroke?

Right. It just seems they’ve eliminated the Boundless Blue from the anchor logo/numbers.

So it appears they made a change to the anchor logo colors on the white jersey. when the logo was released it was two tone navy, now it’s using the lighter blue, same for the number strokes.

I love that Admirals logo. Jersey is alright, but I think it’s a perfect faux back for them.

Ultimately I agree with this. The Orange/navy play well off of each other, single stroke numbers, updated gloves and pants... it’s a good blend to give the McDavid era it’s own feel. Much better than the oranges.

I tend to agree with this. Cleaning up that old navy jersey with just the navy/orange/white looks so nice.

Yeah I’m really liking it. It kind of just looks like the actual jersey and the color is just a little off with the green and purple.

Here is one that i guess is more of a fauxback. It's been lingering in my brain for a number of years and finally just completed it.

Something like this? I know the black and eggplant blend together but I went for a fairly straight callback to it. It also kind of works with the black in the logo. All i changed on that was the triangle to eggplant. I gotta say i actually like it more than i thought i would. I suppose another option could be to swap black for eggplant and mix in silver? now that i have it i can play around with colors more.

I recolored their current shoulder patch and swapped the logo at the center. I originally was fine without the shoulder patch but this does complete it a bit.

That's what I've been mulling over. Just trying to figure it out as while I was thinking about that I was really stuck on keeping the yellow in to make it more dynamic. Maybe I'll try something today instead of work. lol.

Honestly, I got some Duck fever after watching the new show on Disney+, with a swirl of ideas in my head between the District 5 look and the original NHL branding. I'll start with the latter since I haven't figured out something for the first. My intention was to not make a direct throwback and attempt to update in small ways. I think by most informed accounts I've read here pretty much everyone other than the owners wants to go back to eggplant and jade, and the anniversary jersey was sort of my jumping off point. I made a small adjustment to the striping, kept the current name/number font, and used the same version of the logo on both sets. The collar on the home was giving me fits. I don't particularly like this style, but a full white was too much. Secondly, I tried out something to bring the yellow to the jersey. I always thought the inclusion of the yellow on those old alternates really popped, so I gave it a try with this design as it would remain a subtle touch, and kind of carry on the piping theme since the Edge conversion. Thoughts?

I’ve seen it said in the past that players wanted to wear alts. It may just come down to the presidents/gms approving it

Regarding the Bruins rumor, I’m torn. Love their current set and this one, but it still has a sort of dated look to me and I’m not sure I’ve seen any concept that has successfully modernized it. That concept was pretty good though. I’m also in a minority I think but gold socks need the gold shoulder yoke to balance things out. I can see an attempt at an update with black socks similar to now with wider gold stripes.
