Let us all please forget the game linked below, in which 6 players threw passes for the two teams, including 4 by Walter Payton because Mike Ditka had had enough of the QB position.  Randy Wright, Rich Campbell, Gerry Ellis and Bucky Scribner for GB, and Rusty Lisch(!) and Sweetness for the Bears.

I was fortunate enough to be watching that game. Walter Payton playing QB was awesome. Ditka should have let him play QB the rest of the game.

Chicago deserves the QB jersey meme more than the modern Cleveland Browns.

Just for reference, in my first 26 years as a Browns fan, the team had six starting QBs.

    Bill Nelsen 69-71

    Mike Phipps 72-74

    Brian Sipe 75-83

    Paul McDonald 84

    Bernie Kosar 85-93

    Vinnie Testaverde 94-95

I'd be willing to bet that there was at least one season between 1999 and today when the Browns started six different QBs in a 16 game season. Maybe more than one.

I think the Bears had it first -- I remember the names of Henry Burris and Craig Krenzel scrolling on the screen whenever they played the Packers and their one or two quarterbacks in the same time. The Browns stole it when they solidified their place among Really Bad Teams, those thieving magpies.

The Bears definitely had it first. These are Bears QBs I remember off the top of my head and I'm not even a Bears fan.

    Jack Concannon

    Bobby Douglas

    Bob Avellini

    Mike Phipps (You're welcome)

    Vince Evans

Jim McMahon (Still the best Bears QB of the modern era)

    Steve Fuller

    Mike Tomczak

    Steve Walsh

    Erik Kramer

EDIT: How did I forget Doug Flutie?

I'm sure there have been a bunch more.

By the way,  the Bears are more than welcome to reclaim the QB jersey meme. Pretty sure the Browns are going to be rolling with the sexual predator guy for the foreseeable future.

  4. Best List: You went two for four with #1 and #2 being correct. You're kidding with #3 and #4, right?

Worst List: The Giants cancel out the Cardinals so you're wrong on that one. Browns - Steelers looked more than good enough to avoid a spot on the worst list.

Wildcard: I kind of agree, but I can't get past how silly the Bears look in orange. Maybe if it were another team.

When you asked me if you could take this over, I was a little reluctant, but then I realized I could sit here and snipe from the sidelines. This is going to be fun. 😎

Deshaun Watson sucks. I'd never wish an injury on anyone, but I will say that the wrong Brown blew out his knee tonight.

:censored: it. I hope Watson blows out both his knees walking to the bus after the game. Only an idiot would think this guy is a major upgrade from Baker Mayfield. Baker is every bit as capable of screwing up a game as Watson is.  An added bonus is  I wouldn't feel like I need a shower after watching Baker snap defeat from the jaws of victory.

$280 million for this guy. :censored: off.

As much as people are (understandably) annoyed by the Deion hype train

Annoyed? This is the most fun I've had watching college football since the last time Ohio State beat Michigan. Coach Prime is awesome. We need more coaches like him.

Colorado isn't going undefeated. But for tonight's performance, I think the players all went took the field thinking it was an automatic W based on the insane point spread and having A-listers all over campus. Treated it more like a party than a game.

Exactly. As I said earlier - the Buffs got caught up in their own hype. I bet Coach Prime  doesn't let it happen again. Then again, I think he got caught up in the hype too. Maybe giving the whole team sunglasses wasn't the best idea.

    "Do you believe now?"

Why the :censored: would a double OT win over a team that's won 14 games over the last five seasons and committed 181 yards worth of penalties convince me that Colorado is any good?

They're going to get wrecked by any team with a defensive line.

Great game, though.  Worth staying up!

They're going to get wrecked a few times. I don't think anyone is saying Colorado is suddenly a National Championship contender or in the top tier of college football. The point, I think, is that a team that went 1-11 last year is now 3-0 and looks pretty solid.  When it's all said and done, the Buffs are a 7-5 team at best, but it's still a long way from 1-11 and complete irrelevance.

How about Cleveland who has had like 2 11 win seasons in the last 35 years?

Detroit is sitting out there with exactly one playoff win and three division titles since 1957, but it's always the Browns when people need a go to example of "it could be worse." By the way, the Lions have won 11 games all of three times since 1931.

Al Michaels just said they're at "Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia".

Did they bring it back?  Did they bring back the Vet?

That's as close was we're going to get. You should post "My work here is done", disappear for a little while, and come back as BringBackLincolnFinancialField. Then we'll start referring to you as "Linc."
