No, but it is the rule of the forum.

Appreciate the mods' commitment to fairness here but like, this is not the rule of law. At the very least some de-escalation would be helpful to keep things on-topic and productive.
In fairness (again), if you can provide an example of the guy literally going off topic, I will be happy to moderate it. Granted, I haven't read all of his posts, but as far as I can tell, what he's saying is on topic. We may not agree with him, but he seems to be staying between the lines. The ignore feature is there for a reason.

Infrared/mods - can we just give him his own thread? Ignore doesn't work, because someone will quote him, or you'll be tempted to peek at the car crash every now and then.
He's free to start his own thread. If we gave him one, would he use it? I seriously doubt it. Temptation isn't handled by the mod squad. You all will have to handle that yourselves.

100% this - when a member is so universally disliked and they clog up threads with their spam (and it is spam), it’s time to do something.Being disliked is not against the rules. As I've said a few times now, I get that his contrarian takes are REALLY annoying, but he's not breaking any rules. Bad opinions are not "spam" and they are allowed here. If they weren't, pretty much every person in this community would have at least a suspension or two under their belt. No one, myself included, (maybe especially myself) is required read his posts or respond to them.

OK. You're a troll. You know it, I know it, and everyone here knows it. You can contribute and state your opinion without being a disagreeable ass about it. Try it sometime.

maybe if we all mass report them for constantly disrupting the topic at hand with their opinion-as-fact posts something will be done?
Do not abuse the report button, folks.
Believe me, I get it, but....As annoying as he is, Unocal is not breaking any rules that I'm aware of. If dumbass opinions were against the rules, a lot of us would have been banned years ago. He is what he is. Proceed accordingly. There is always the ignore option.

Btw a little bit of weird trivia. Randy Johnson killed a bird in 2001 and the Diamondbacks went to the World Series. 22 years later Meryll Kelly kills a bird in spring Training and the Diamondbacks are again going to the World Series. It's like they're sacrificing birds for titles
Whatever it takes, I guess.

Diamondbacks, Heat, Panthers
2023- the year of the lowest seed. And god it sucks.
1. We like fun. You should try it.
2. Whatever.
3. You'll get past it.

"A five seed vs a six seed in the World Series? This is a travesty. Might as well just have a drawing to pick the World Series Champion next season."
- Unocal, probably.

Well how about that?
You just know there's some dude out there who put 10 bucks on a Rangers - Diamondbacks World Series as a joke and now he has $300,000 in his pocket.

If an 84 win team with a negative run differential makes it 2 straight years a 6 seed that never would have made the playoffs makes the WS.......... what are we doing here?
Any chance you can shut the
up about playoff seeding? Asking for pretty much everyone in this thread.

Diamondbacks force a game 7. Let's Go! Who knew that both series would go 7 games. Rooting for a DBacks/ Rangers series. Of course with the Diamondbacks winning
Same. An Ohio State fan and a Michigan fan actually agreeing on something. There may be hope for civilization after all.

You could tell them to fix those weak-ass uniforms, but other than that, I think you pretty much covered it.

Football Sunday at the Majestic XII compound. They were drunk and complaining about how much money they'd lost on the Bills - Pats game, but they stepped up when it counted.

Imagine an umpires union strike and how little public support they would have, even from the most pro-union people.
They'd even get that strike call wrong.

Seconded. Let's make it official.

Browns were gifted that win by the officials, but a win without Watson is a good win...even if they didn't deserve it.

As someone who spent his career concerned about ratings, I can tell you all that the TV ratings for this World Series will have absolutely no effect on your day to day existence. Unless, of course, you're working in the programming department at Fox Sports or you're an ad buyer for an agency. But other than that, there is no need to concern yourselves with the TV ratings. Whether anyone is watching or not, the games will still be on TV.
