OJ and Casey Anthony were found innocent.
Those two were not found innocent, they were found not guilty. It's an important distinction.

The Bills probably had their best shot during a time when none of us even really noticed that their window was even really open yet, and both times they lost to Kansas City. Cold league, but thems the breaks. That window closes a lot faster than people think it does.

Ken Dorsey out as Bills OC. Guess he shouldn't have fumbled and thrown those interceptions last night.

Or Jameis Winston's. Makes a great play and then follows it up with three WTF plays.

So, is Buffalo “actually bad” now?
I'd say it's more a season from hell than it is that they're "actually bad."

I also don't think it's fair to call St. Louis a failed market based on the Rams relo.
Call it whatever you want, but St. Louis lost two NFL teams in less than 30 years.

No. It's not. St. Louis can actually support a football team, despite what Stan Kroenke says.
St. Louis has had two NFL teams and lost them both - in my lifetime. How many more chances do you figure the place should get?

moving the Panthers to a place like St. Louis
That's like saying Atlanta is a good relocation spot for an NHL team.

Yep. Because equating Penn State with anything related to restoring right and justice is galaxy brain-level logic.
Exactly. Restoring right and justice is Ohio State's job as it always has been. We're happy to oblige.

I'm slightly closer to 50 than 40, and I've known exactly 2 Phillies TV main broadcasters, and 3 main radio guys, one Eagles guy, 2 Flyers guys, and 2 Sixers. Color guys have come in and out, but even then, not that much.
Is there any other city with that kind of longevity / consistency in their broadcast teams?
I'm slightly closer to 60 than 50. On the radio side, the Browns have had four PBP announcers in my life. The shortest tenures were Nev Chandler (9 years) who left in 1993 because he got sick (he died shortly after that) and Casey Coleman who took over for Nev and had the job in '94 and '95. Jim Donovan has called the games on radio since the Browns reanimated in '99. He went on leave early in the season because he's dealing with Leukemia. The team has been bringing in guest PBP guys
Tom Hamilton has been the Indians/Guardians PBP announcer since 1998 when he took over when Herb Score retired. Score had held the job since 1968.
The Cavs have seen some turnover on radio since Joe Tait left in 2011, but Tate had been calling Cavs games from their inception.

Meanwhile, and there may have been one somewhere, I'm trying to remember the last time the Chiefs actually played, outside their division, an actual tough opponent on the road*. It seems the last three or four years all their high-profile actually [supposed-to-be] tough matches have been at Arrowhead.
I've been on this for three years now. I don't often believe in conspiracies, but sometimes I do.
And...the Chiefs seem to play 13 home games every season. Like you, I'm not big on conspiracies, but if I were, I'd think the NFL wants the Chiefs to face as little resistance as possible on their annual journey to the AFC title game.

So what is the outrage as to why the Bengals are winning?
If we throw out the scores from our resident East German judge, there is no outrage over the Bengals being good. Hell, I'm a Browns fan and I don't have problem with the Bengals winning. The fact that they can't beat the Browns probably helps with that, but the point remains.

It was jarring the first time I saw him on an NFL field because when he was with Alabama I never noticed his size. I don't like to say size matters as a 5'10" guy myself, but in the NFL it kind of matters.
His height didn't shock me as much as how frail he looked did. Dude looked like he might have weighed all of 160 pounds.

Can I offer a Bengals fan's perspective?
Can I offer the perspective of someone who isn't a fan of either team?
Ten minutes into the game, it was obvious that the Bills weren't going to win. The final score made that game look a lot closer than it ever really was. The Bengals were never in any real danger of letting it get away from them.

And the Texans are a better landing spot for a rookie QB?
I argued that Stroud and Young were neck and neck as draft prospects go and normally I'm not one to focus on size, especially as a guy who was undervalued in my own athletic career because of my size, but if two guys are tied then go with the bigger dude. Young looks tiny and limited.
If we have any Panthers fans here who've watched him more than me they can rightfully tell me to f*** off and eat s*** if I'm wrong, but do you feel like you scored landing Bryce Young right now?
The first time I saw Young in mini-camp, he looked so small that I thought NFL Network was doing a story on some kid who won a contest and the Panthers put him in a uniform and let him run a few plays or something. I'm dead serious, I honestly couldn't believe the little guy I saw in that video was the #1 overall pick in the draft. Maybe he'll turn into a good NFL QB, but I'm not betting any of my money on it.

2023 NFL Regular Season Through Super Bowl LVIII
in Sports In General
Posted
Even if Watson were a model citizen, it's still an idiotic trade. Any QB short of Mahomes (and I'm not sure I make that deal even for him) isn't worth anywhere near what the Browns gave up for Watson. People act like the Browns were one player away from a Super Bowl when the Watson deal was made. They weren't. Not even close. No one saw this defense being what it is now when the Watson deal was made. Long story short, the smart move would have been to give Mayfield one more season then take a look at available QBs. Instead, the Browns panicked, made a deal with the devil, and trashed the future of the franchise for a good long while. If the...ahem...brain trust of the Cleveland Browns weren't such morons, this whole mess could have (and should have) been Atlanta's problem. But here we are...as usual.
