  1. Well, like Milo said, the prime examples are on their third round of reposts. We can't just make people up, so obviously there is going to be many less memorable examples. That only makes logical sense. Unfortunately, people seem to be around here only to rain on others parades. I agree with the guy who posted Johnny Damon in a Rays uni, that is the "wrong" uniform for many people. That fits perfectly in this thread. I mean, if you guys dont like where its gone, why are you still posting in here? Go re-read the first few pages if you're really that into those examples

Or better yet, I think it's just time to let this thread die.

Until next year when Nick Lidstrom signs a free agent contract with the Florida Panthers. :P

Ha, that reminds me of when I used to troll the MLive Red Wings forum years ago, about how the Wings should/were going to trade Yzerman to Ottawa for a fourth round draft pick.

Also, we pronounce it "Lindstrom", here in Hockeytown. <_<

Member when FedErov was here?

  3. This thread is for things like Emmitt Smith as a Cardinal or Bobby Hull as a Whaler, not LeBron James as a Cav.

Correct...unfortunately, those and their ilk are on about their third go-round as reposts.

If anyone considers the Royals, A's, Sox, or Yanks to be the "wrong" uniform for Damon, they're seriously misguided.

I personally associate him most with the Yanks, but that's because I'm a Yankees fan and he was here more recently than his tenure with the Sox. Objectively, he's equally associated with the Sox and the Yanks.

Thanks for the guidance newbie :P

Newbie? I've been registered here since July 2007. I'm more of a lurker than a newbie.

    Get off your high horse.

Yeah, the whole thing with slamming people for membership dates and post counts is pretty disappointing, especially from members I tend to respect.

    :P = kidding around.

  5. So if price is all that matters, why buy a TV for $2000 when you can get the same one for $500? So what if that the ones you are buying for $500 were stolen out of your neighbors' homes, that's not your problem, you're getting a deal. Of course, buy purchasing these obviously stolen TVs, you're creating a market for it and encouraging thieves to break in and steal more TVs to sell, but who cares - you got yours. Well, until it gets stolen and sold to your neighbor for $500.

Just because one is a physical product with a forced-entry method of stealing and one is IP which is easily stolen without anyone getting physically harmed doesn't really make it much different. Except to most of you of course.

Sounds similiar to a notion I posed to looogodud:

I hope you get robbed one day and the thief leaves a note that says:

    Dear homeowner,

I really like your stuff but I can't afford it so I just helped myself to whats in your garage.

P.S. If you're going to blame anybody blame companies for charging too much and my boss for not paying me enough. If you really think about it... it not really my fault. Besides what do you care about being robbed for, people are speeding!

  6. What I don't get is that all of these jerseys, be they real or fake, are coming from the same part of the world, correct? Same materials, just different stitchers. Because of that, I don't see the big deal in paying $200 vs. $40 for the exact same jersey. Granted, there are fakes out there that are of horrendous quality and laughable authenticity, but the Chiefs jerseys I have are perfect, and coming from a jersey/logo/design enthusiast like myself I can say that with due diligence, and if I've found a jersey or two that just so happens to have the same materials made to the same specifications and is cheaper, I just don't see the big deal in purchasing one.

The materials are definately not the same. Many times on the counterfit hockey jerseys the logos, names and numbers appear to be of the same material that the logos on a Starter jacket would be. Also, more often than not the fonts are off as well.

Not understanding why it is a big deal is one of the big "gear grinders" that many of us anti-countefitters have.
