    The Commanders 😃

All joking aside I fully expect them to have one next year using that all leather looking helmet wrap they used to have with the Darker Burgundy uniform sans the Native American patches on the shoulders.

    The already sell the jersey:

Agreed, I'm surprised replica jerseys have not gotten smaller over the years, such as cutting off the the sleeves to more of a soccer jersey cut to emulate the game jerseys.

But they kind of did from Reebok to Nike. When Nike took over I was like these are more Mesh t-shirts than actual Jerseys, like you said soccer jerseys. I loved Reebok replicas.

No one is spending $500 million to get a spot in the league and then demoted to the second tier.

I would rather see a linear type thing. Like a AL & NL for example, both Division 1, but just the last 2 place teams in each swap leagues which allows it to have an ever changing schedule from year to year. Its not really a demotion as much as its just a way to keep the schedule fresh.

This time out it was due to three teams sharing the stadium instead of two, according to some of the fan groups.  They didn't want to deal with so much paint after the last time they played there.

Have you watched any of the games? This is possibly the nicest endzones all season. DC uses a plain blank endzone at Audi Field and Arlington's field is green endzones with the wordmark, nothing more. Same template here and used elsewhere.

DC is not allowed because of the agreement they made with the DC United to use the stadium.

I love the Orioles City Connect jersey as it perfectly encapsulates the City of Baltimore.

Funny part of that is the company I work for used to be owned by a company called Blackboard, and our office's used to be by the M&T Bank stadium, and they had moved us in 2018-ish to the inner harbor. They tasked the office with making a T-shirt together to represent the office and make it unique to the city. So we had a black shirt with Blackboard (with Baltimore in a very little font) written in a very similar font. Everyone has that "one guy" in the office, and that "one guy" reported us to the people that were in charge of logo style guidelines, and were told we could not do it. So someone just sadly traced the Baltimore skyline over the regular Blackboard logo and that became the shirt.

Getting some Georgia vibe's from @VDizzle12 Brown's submission. Not like there is many other ways to make a dog logo, just thought it looked familiar. Likely the colar and teeth that gives it the similar feel

The "C" somewhat matches the Columbus Crew "C". They have the same ownership.

Which is precisely my biggest issue with current sports branding. It's no longer enough to just be a team with a nickname. These days, you have to incorporate a bunch of made up nonsense that comes with that nickname. "The shoulders are swords", "the numbers represent the sabres used by Buccaneers", "the orange stitching represents the precise workmanship of Cleveland steel workers" (or something like that), and so on. It's gone from ridiculous back when it started to straight up parody now.

That being said, I can't wait to see how Nike comes up with a way to make a garden variety, backyard bird into some sort of fierce warrior.

MLS was the ones that started that BS in the US.

Because I suppose a hard-working everyday commoner neighborhood like, say, Pigtown wasn't colorful enough...?

(Used to spend a lot of time there...)

The company I work for used to have their offices there, closer to M&T Stadium, that place was a fun area at one point. Loved the Cross Street Market and all the bars and restaurants that were there. Crossbar is still there, and its one of my favorite places.

It does, however, beg the question of whether Fanatics plans to now get involved in things like textile innovation and performance design. With an Adidas/Nike/Reebok, etc., those functions are built in. But Fanatics, from what I can tell, plays mostly in high-margin fan apparel. While they can certainly contract with a manufacturer capable of manufacturing quality, the real question becomes whether they invest in in-house design and R&D operations to enhance the performance quality of uniforms.

Is the NHL like the NFL at all where one or two companies really make the on field (ice) jerseys (like http://www.riponathletic.com/) and they just slap a Nike logo on it? It could just be that the people who make the jerseys take the same and they slap a Fanatics logo on it.

Interesting...it could be because it's Nike...but they also don't have the white Terps helmet that became famous under the Fridge (Nike/UA unis). I'm surprised they have the mid-90s helmet, as that one is usually forgotten.

But they still sell stuff with it on it:

  12. Thought this may be the place to ask. I am a UMD grad from a while ago and love the logo they used below. But looking at their online stores its like the only logo that does not have merch. Even some of the old logos have merch. So it leads me to ask, are they not selling anything with this because NIKE designed it, and they are UA's pride and joy?

Even their Helmet History Tee is missing it:

I had the Carolina version of this when I was in high school, my brother ruined it by using it as his practice jersey for middle school football.

  14. One thing I questioned when I saw a similar article is how much just watched on ESPN+ since all the games are streaming there.

My other question is, and I never found out, ESPN is on a TV in every bar and restaurant in America, so in terms of eyes on the product there had to have been a lot. Those places are not going to set and leave on Fox or NBC proper just to make sure a USFL game comes on.

Red Bull does not allow american football to be played at their stadium, period. Lacrosse and rugby is okay with them, but not our brand of football. Not sure about Subaru Park.

Besides soccer, there have been “Battle of the Blue” football games played here between the University of Delaware and Villanova.”

they have also used it for rugby.

  16. My Freshman year in High School I went to a high school in MD called Westlake HS and somehow adopted the Dolphins colors but they adopted the Wolverine mascot. So the first year of the school opening the opted everything Michigan just with a Teal, Orange and White color scheme. When I went back to visit some friends a couple of years later the Michigan stuff was relegated to JV and all the Varsity team branding went to Wisconsin  with Teal, Orange and White.

The school I graduated from Calvert HS in MD, were the Cavaliers and went I went there had adopted all the Virginia branding with a C in place of the V.
