  1. No, the argument in this thread is more like some random person on the street coming up to me and bragging about how they "got a sweet deal" on an obviously-counterfeit jersey, in which case I would be completely justified in telling them that it's a fake and why it is wrong to purchase fakes.
  2. Then you're not entitled to own a jersey. Sorry, that's life. When you see someone wearing a knock-off, whether it be at a game or on the street, do you go up to them and preach about how they are not entitled to own that jersey? Anyone else on here do that? No, because I'm not the kind of annoying jackass who would go up to some random person on the street and preach at them. That doesn't change the fact that they're wrong for doing it.
  3. Or you could grow up and realize that you're not entitled to own sports jerseys if you don't like the price.
  4. Then you're not entitled to own a jersey. Sorry, that's life. You do not think I should own a fake jersey but I do, and you cannot stop me from doing this. I may not be able to stop you from buying fakes, but your justifications are laughable. The only legal choices in the matter are to pay the prices that are deemed fair by the leagues and companies, or not buy a jersey at all. End of story.
  5. Then you're not entitled to own a jersey. Sorry, that's life.
  6. I just don't see how you can possibly claim that you're not a troll. You signed up as "LoveTheFakes," post arrogant, condescending crap that shows you just don't get it, and you've never posted outside this thread. My troll radar is going off.
  7. I'd like to see how he dances around this one. I still can't comprehend how anybody could justify conterfeits. Still no answer...
  8. Exactly. Coggs - how would you feel if people stopped buying memorabilia from you in droves because they decided eBay fakes were more cost effective? I bet you wouldn't be pleased.
  9. How is it possible that you're perfectly willing to pay top dollar for expensive season tickets to the Giants, Rangers, and Mets, as well as buying authentic memorabilia from each team that doesn't come cheap, but you balk at even a $120 jersey?
  10. That's the "best" one I could find on Google. Most of them have numbers that are crooked along with being bubbly and shiny. They all have incorrect sleeve striping and number/NOB fonts.
  11. Just like you CHOOSE to purchase counterfeit jerseys. That's not Reebok's fault. In your honest opinion, which one looks better and more like the real thing? The left one is an authentic and the one on the right is an average counterfeit.
  12. You do realize that they make royalties off merchandise sales, right? And a free-market system doesn't function properly if people don't make money off their work and its exposure.
  13. Why not? You'd get to see a football game for way cheaper than the NFL. Granted, the games wouldn't be nearly as fun to watch and you'd probably miss your season tickets at Meadowlands Stadium, but that's the NFL's fault for being such meanies and charging high prices for a top-of-the-line product, as opposed to yours for making the personal choice to trade those tickets in for Pop Warner. The nerve of Goodell!
  14. Going slightly over the speed limit is not putting people's lives in danger, especially when other drivers around you are also likely going a tiny bit over the speed limit. Buying counterfeit jerseys puts the livelihoods of designers in danger. I'd say buying fakes has a more wide-reaching effect than going 1mph over the speed limit or jaywalking on an empty street.
  15. Okay, here's a hypothetical for you. If a Pop Warner team in East Rutherford renamed themselves as the New York Giants and started selling tickets to their games, would you start going to those games instead of the NFL games? After all, you'd be seeing New York Giants football for cheaper, and quality doesn't matter as long as you're saving money, right?
  16. Again, going 1mph over the speed limit or jaywalking on a road that's not busy or any other minor crime is hardly comparable to purchasing an illegal counterfeit jersey and funding the violation of copyright laws and intellectual-property rights. Furthermore, this thread isn't called "Thinking about doing anything wrong ever?" It's about counterfeit jerseys. The "everyone breaks the law during their lives" defense, therefore, is bullcrap.
  17. The difference is, the cheaper barber is still legal, while the cheaper jerseys aren't.
  18. It would take me all day to list the websites of just about every firm who has ever worked with a professional sports team.
  19. I completely agree. The War on Drugs has done more harm than good, and hasn't stopped anyone from doing drugs. But that's off-topic. The point is, don't expect a good product if you're saving that much - quality comes with a price. And honestly, people who wear fakes around are complete posers in my book. Not to mention all the violations of intellectual property laws.
  20. Nike's prices may have inadvertently opened up a market for counterfeits, but that does not excuse the personal choice to purchase them. The government's strict drug laws have produced a black market for drugs, but it's still illegal to possess them. How is this any different?
  21. So it's Nike's fault that people choose to buy illegal counterfeits? Somehow I don't see that defense holding up in court.
  22. Except the initial purchase is a crime in and of itself, dumbass. I'm really starting to wonder if this is a previously-banned member coming back to with us. Say, LoveTheFakes, would you describe yourself as "culturally black"?
