Still the Chargers' only world championship ring to date.
-
-
Yeah, I have to agree with -Dan on this one. Considering how awesome some of the recent World Series rings have been...
...the Giants got hosed on this one.
-
Right now I'd call it a tie between the Phillies and the Rangers. If he wins a World Series in Philadelphia then I think the Phillies will be the "right" uniform.

im surprised no one has posted ethier of these
Yeah...
He does look a bit strange in an A's uniform.
-
Well, he did lead the AL in runs and stolen bases as a Royal in 2000, so there's that.
-
I remember Johnny Damon as a Royal. It really wasn't that long ago.

What kind of bread - pumpernickel or rye?

Seriously? Not only is it beyond old, LeBron was just posted on the previous page. I think it's high time that people got over it.

Oh God, we've got another butthurt Cleveland fan. Who finds these people and why do they keep sending them to us?

Here's Boise's 2010 Fiesta Bowl ring:
Can't find a picture of the '07 rings.

I think -- and I'm pretty sure I've said it before in this thread -- that the proliferation of counterfeit jerseys (especially NFL jerseys) is indicative of how far out of whack the supply (especially price) is to demand (especially willingness to pay).
Indicative? Sure. A justification for funding illegal activity by buying bootlegs? Hell no.
-
Since when are metaphors (aka -Dan's post) the same as ad hominem attacks?
-
Nobody's entitled to a jersey from their favorite team. If you're worried about feeding your family and keeping your job, something tells me that a sports jersey would not be a purchase you would make, whether it costs $20 or $100.

Apparently a throwback to the late '70s.

Ignorance is not the strongest of defenses.
Somebody tell the NCAA that.

We already have the Red Sox, Indians, Angels, Twins, Yankees, Rangers, Braves, Cubs, Dodgers, Phillies, Cardinals, and Nationals using navy and red together in some capacity. The last thing the MLB needs is yet another navy-and-red team. In fact, the majority of these teams could plausibly change their color scheme now.
-
Even less popularly, I think the "M" used in this logo was the Brewers' best cap logo ever. The ball-in-glove is overrated and the Motre Bame logo is too intricate.

I'd contract the Kings and Pacers. Both are weak markets with rock-bottom attendance, so they aren't very profitable for the league. The only thing saving the Nets from my chopping block is the fact that they're moving to Brooklyn and could pick up a following there.
-
"They've never been good" is not a valid reason to contract. "They've never been profitable" is, but the Clippers turn a profit every year.
Also, LOL at the Kings being a "storied" franchise. They were an embarrassment for a very long time until the Mike Bibby era. For a while they changed cities every five seconds. And now they're back to being an embarrassment again. Don't get me wrong, they should be contracted, but for their dismal attendance figures, not their history.
-
That still doesn't explain how bad teams like the Nets, Warriors, Raptors, and Cavs get to stay in his proposed NBA. Seems to me he just picked the teams with the worst publicity and image to contract, as if that's a valid criteria.

Contracted
Los Angeles Clippers*
The Clippers are 15th in attendance in the whole NBA right now. That's better than the Nuggets, Pistons, Rockets, Raptors, Bucks, Hawks, Sixers, and Nets, all of whom you're keeping around in your ideal NBA. I'm all for contracting some teams, but let's be realistic - the Clippers are doing surprisingly well at the box office for a team that has always been the second team in their market, with a dreadful history to boot.

Only to Steeler fans, because that franchise was the punchline of professional sports up until the merger.
