I'm surprised you haven't come out sand said that the Clippers will win a championship before the Heat will.

I'd love to be able to say that but the Clips need to make the playoffs again before they can win a championship. This is looking like the year we stop the losing mentality and start making the playoffs consistently, because our roster is pretty much free of bad-work-ethic guys and locker room cancers, and full of young talent, and we have a new coach with a reputation as a good motivator. But I'm still not going to put the cart in front of the horse.

Tell ya what, if my Clippers are still playing in late May of next year, then I'll break out the old Comic Sans.

I don't. If they win one without any depth at all or a quality starting point guard or center, that'll be impressive enough to me.

Well, couldn't football be in Tier 1 and all the other sports be in Tier 2?

I can flat out guarantee the Pac 10 won't take Boise State. All they literally have is the football team-everything else is historically sub par athletically, and academically the school is little more than a jumped up junior college.

Or maybe it's because the Mountain West Conference already took them.

Just a thought.

Boise State has other sports - men's and women's basketball, cross country, track and field, women's volleyball, etc. Granted, those programs aren't exactly stellar, but they exist.

Why isn't Boise in the top tier? Two major bowl wins in the past four years, dominating wins over the likes of Oklahoma, TCU (twice), Oregon (twice), and Fresno State when they were ranked #8 in the country - all in the past ten years - as well as a 59-2 record at home since 1999 would probably get them into the top tier in real life, right? Granted, not all of those home wins have come against traditional teams, but then again, traditional teams have been reluctant to schedule them as of late.

The Pac-10 would have to steal Boise from the Mountain West Conference, because that's where they're headed.

Agree with Morrison and Fisher, but the Clippers drafted Odom (and he played there for a good five years), and Garnett was a member of the Timberwolves for far longer than he's been on the Celtics.

The Burger King alts used Century Schoolbook Bold Italic and the McCabe jersey uses a squooshed version of Serpentine Bold for the numbers.

Well, I'm going to have to say those three loathsome words I hate...

It's the Clippers.

I'd have thought they'd have retired Bob McAdoo or Randy Smith's numbers by now, but hey, that's the Clippers for you.

I'd love to see that happen, but I think the team should win a championship first or even consistently make the playoffs before they start retiring numbers.

However, if they were to do that, I would add Sam Cassell and Danny Manning to the list - Cassell for leading the Clips to that miracle playoff run in '05, and Manning for being a back-to-back All-Star for the Clips.

2009 NBA Draft Lottery Champions, 1998 NBA Draft Lottery Champions, etc...

And for the Clippers... well... you get the point haha

If/when the Clips get LeBron/DWade/Joe Johnson/Dirk/etc. and a competent coach, they'll be shining the spotlight at their games real soon.
