  1. I like the idea of having an alternate helmet but the NFL has to make sure that it is only one alternate helmet. Otherwise, as others have said, it could turn into college football. I'm not naive enough to think that these teams would have restraint if given the opportunity for multiple helmet options.

  2. I think Levy will do it. I think Bucciogross will be involved. Thorne was just let go as the Orioles announcer, so maybe he will be in the mix too.

Is Barry Melrose still on ESPN? I don't watch the channel anymore for anything other than live sports so I have no clue who is there amymore.

They look absolutely nothing like each other. Owl head vs. Full body. 3/4 turn vs. front view. Different fonts. Similar colors though but so what. That's like saying Georgia & Gonzaga bulldog logos look a lot like each other because they use similar shades of red.

I'm definitely not saying it is a rip-off but having an owl in the same seldom-used color combo is at least similar. They just remind me of each other. Having two bulldog logos in red is not uncommon at all. Bad analogy.

The problem is that the "gold" would be just a mustard color. We've already seen how Nike translates the Jaguars gold to jerseys.

That's why I'm okay that they do not have any gold on the uniform. Nike cannot/doesn't want to create a metallic gold fabric.

That uniform is superior to what they wear now in every way except the extra logo on the sleeve.

I am honestly not sure which one I like better but I always thought this was a solid identity.

if they bumped all of the EPL to Peacock, I’d be more fine with that, but inevitably the NBC and USA games will still require a cable/streaming service subscription and won’t be available on Peacock.

If Peacock was the only way to watch EPL, then fine, I guess. But I feel that their quality is lacking for live sports.

How many more rebrands can there be? Comcast SportsNet --> CSN --> NBC Sports in eight years is enough.

I think it looks pretty bad for the NHL to be on a lame-duck cable channel. The league getting booted from ESPN and everybody knowing it was one thing, but the entire channel shutting down around them is another. I hope they designate USA as the main channel for the Stanley Cup to get the loser stink off in time for next year.

Although not nearly as bad, it kind of reminds me of the days when the NHL was only on Sportschannel.

The channel has sucked since it was rebranded from Comcast and they got rid of the SportsNite show, debate shows, and live non-game programming.  It used to be a channel I'd put on for reasons other than to watch a game, but now if it's not a game, it's just lousy infomercials. It's a shame - it was excellent once.

Daily News Live was always nice discussion among sportswriters. I always enjoyed that show.

Does this include the regional channels too?  NBCSN Philly just laid a bunch more people off.

I hope not but all of their coverage is bare bones now, so I wouldn't be surprised. I don't know where the Flyers, Phillies, and Sixers games would go though.

At this point it would be a lot easier to pay one big bill that covers all the different services, even the ones I have no intent to watch, just so that I can watch something when I feel like it and know that it's there. Oh, and it's all right, and it's coming on...

Some kind of service like that feels so familiar...

The Panthers Official Twitter account tweeted out a photo of this hat a week or so ago-

I don’t know why, but for some reason I actually really like the logo. The team described it as “limited edition”. Was this a sparingly used logo from early on in the franchise’s existence?

It reminds me of hats from the late 90s/early 2000s. I had a Seahawks one that streaked the blue and green in a S pattern. It may be that style of hat.

Teams opting out will limit some of these. UTSA has accepted two different invites, the Tropical Smoothie Bowl and First Responder Bowl. The first one was rescinded because SMU has Covid issues still.

Maybe at the very least, we will get a moratorium on any bowl season expansion.

Has every team with green in their color scheme tried volt/highlighter green at some point? Sure seems like it.

I liked it when Oregon first started because their colors are yellow and green. Volt felt like a combination of both.

All these other teams just seem like poor imitations.

South Florida has been doing it for a little while now so I feel that it's acceptable at this point for them. Aside from USF and Oregon, it shouldn't be used.

Tom Brady's skills and vision transfered into his baseball game, in his early days. He ended up getting drafted by the Montreal Expos, before ultimately turning my team down because he wanted to switch to football.

It's crazy knowning that the greatest QB of all-time was almost a Montreal Expo.

I didn't know Joe Montana almost played for the Expos!

Kidding aside, I had no idea he played baseball, let alone, drafted by a major league baseball team.

That means that the 1999 Michigan Wolverines had two baseball players behind center with Brady and Drew Henson.
